Can IG88-C with PTL equipped perform an action (other than boost or evade), Push the Limit to boost, and then perform its free evade action? Or is the stress put on immediately after boosting, and therefore cannot perform the free evade action?

The stress would stop the free evade. That's why people using this combo go for Boost, free evade THEN PTL off the evade for another action. Get's you 3 before the stress (and if you did it with advanced sensors, can clear that stress when you do a green)

Wouldn't this fall into the nested actions category? I.e. the free evade triggers before we get back to PTL to receive a stress?

PTL works thusly:

Perform action

PTL Triggers

Perform Free Action from action bar

Gain Stress

IG-88C works thusly:

Perform Boost action

IG88-C Triggers

Perform free Evade action.

Combine them, and "Perform free Evade action" occurs before "Gain Stress".

The stress wouldn't be applied after the boost, though. You're doing the free evade after the boost, as instructed by his ability, THEN coming back to pick up the PtL stress.

It's specifically worded as free evade ACTION and not 'assign an evade token"

You can't do the same action twice.

So nope, no double-evade-token-crabbots

He wasn't asking about doing it twice. He was trying to clarify when the stress from Push the Limit kicks in, and did it prevent IG-88's free evade action.
