Black Squadron Pilot + Crack Shot (15)
ATC + Howlrunner seems like pretty solid firepower. The Tempests will be low on defense during the initial engagement (as they acquire target locks), but they're inherently pretty tough and everyone will want to shoot at the back row (Howl + BSP) anyway.
Compared to a 7-TIE swarm, this has similar durability (21 health behind 3 agility, except some of it is shields) and arguably better firepower, but it should be easier to maneuver.

Nice idea. It's a new type of swarm. Surely more tough than Tie Fighters.

Why not Swarm Tactics on Howl?

Why not Swarm Tactics on Howl?

The list is at 100 exactly, so Swarm Tactics wouldn't fit without dropping something else. Plus, it's always hard to turn down Crack Shot :).

Yeah, you have to drop the two Crack Shot for Swarm Tactics. I agree with you, it's better to keep 2x Crack.

Think about putting Draw Their Fire on that BSP. It would allow Howl or any other more expensive and integral piece of your swarm survive a touch longer for the same points as one of those fancy FOTM cards. ;)

5 ships is not a swarm.

Is six? You could have 3x Tempests with AC and 3x Academy Pilots...

Managing arcs and target locks will be interesting.
