Fallout 4... omg its excellent but seriously lacking some key tutorial

There are farms that provide all the ingredients if you do the minuteman missions they'll lead you to them.

I now get nearly 50 adhesive from a harvest which is a big difference from how I was scrapping by before.

I still have one settlement to found. Supposed to make the recruitment beacon, but couldn't spare anyone for a supply line and didn't feel like hauling parts everywhere. That place is still empty, except for a robot that is permanently high as a kite.

Ive got tons of linked settlements now, means im hardly ever scabbing around for parts.

I'm currently rocking a MK6 military set of x0 power armour with calibrated legs and loads of other goodies meaning i can carry about 420 units of weight on a mission.

I've found about eight sets of power armour and i know its not 'efficient' but i built a garage to store them all and ive got so many power cores from knocking out sentry bots and raiding old army bases im not too fussed about using power armour.

I think i had 18 cores in inventory at last check and eight or nine spare suits in various states of repair with a core in each.

I do like how you cant craft or use some terminals in PA, stops you just wearing it constantly.

How tough is the 'forged' ironworks location btw! I totally needed PA for that one.

One thing i have found is maintaining and repairing/upgrading top end power armour burns through your resources to the point where i was buying shipments of some materials to save mucking about.

i wish there were a way to hunt legendary enemies. They seem random, I'm surprised there aren't endless Radiant quests to hunt them.

I'm using the BOS II T-60b Power Armor...

And I'm sitting on 39 Fusion Cores.

But I'm always trying to get adhesives (for some reason, the settlers just will not farm the tato plants I put up), aluminum, oil, and screws.

But mostly adhesive.

I also can't get my settlement happiness over 80. 104 Defense, 20-30 food, 20-30 water, 11 settlers, 15 beds....one store...plenty of power...

But God Forbid anything short of an entire pack of Deathclaws or a Supermutant Behemoth that attacks Sanctuary Hills. Because the sheer amount of Heavy Machine Gun Turrets I've got there is insane.

the wife gave me STRICT orders that i was NOT to buy any new games for the next couple of months!! So no new Battle front or fallout COD etc tell after mid Jan.. (Christmas & Birthdays coming up) lol... But fortunately i have Dragon age to occupy my time. Daughter recommended it. The recent fallout games are my favorites along with the older KOTOR 1 and 2..

That's weird because my followers have planted extra mato plants for me there's always three or four farming no idea what I did differently.

I've fully upgraded the bos armour to F class with a titanium coating, just need another level then I can add a jump pack.

Learning how to make starch made all the difference.

New settlers seem to automatically start farming, or at least they have for me (PC, if that helps). Try using the workshop to directly order someone to farm tatoes. Otherwise, just hit up Abernathy Farms. All they have is tatoes.

Stores seem to be the best way to increase happiness. I've thrown a few Minutemen flags up as well but I don't know if that helped at all. Currently I'm planning to shift my "personal" base away from Sanctuary and start living in a house I built on the roof of the gas station.

Can anyone tell me what settlers do if the settlement is attacked while I'm gone? I want to build a panic room where I can concentrate a lot of turrets near a walled in section with the alarm inside it but if nobody's going to ring it then there's no point.
