Yeah as I said in the other thread, I'm not a fan of the style change here either. I loved the box cover art, but this one seems too animated compared to the rest of the characters in the game. It's a good piece otherwise, but I wish it had been done differently.

I agree. It feels very disconnected from the art of the other charactrers

I believe it is in the same style and probably the same artist as saska's and jyn's at least. Not a fan of this particular work though. It's mostly about proportions for me: the hook nose, the Bratz lips, the long chin. Would much prefer the box art.

I could see why you'd preffer one version over the other, but I honestly dont see much difference with the older heroes.

In fact, if I wanted to go deeper in the problem, I'd say that Diala and Saska's faces are more conform with women beauty standards; Verena is more masculine/less sexy than the other two.

In any case, it's too late for any change, as it's already listed as on the boat. Just photoshop yourself a new hero card using the box image, because you'll never get more that;

Pretty much what others have said. It's most like a different artist for the box art and a different artist for the card art. And although I'm not saying I like Verena's face, it does looks similar to Diala's.

I don't like the art on the card.

At least the skirmish card may get alternative art in the future.

I actually like her art. Not as angry as Dialla, not mousy like Saska or sultry like Jyn. Verena shows focus and austerity. She takes your weapon and spanks you with it. She's an icy dominatrix.

Im an animator and an Artist, My buddy does some work for Fantasy flight Card artwork and I was interested in doing some myself. he told me how they work and operate. It is contract work mostly, as is a lot of illustration work is. they have a big list of commision-able artists on their database. and they grab people for the jobs they have at the time. he says they don't pay particularly well, as illustrators and artists should, he doesn't mind too much as you get paid to draw star wars stuff, but it could be tough for full-time artists.

perhaps the same artist was not available as the style is noticeably different, even from the core set. Im not sure it is the same artist, though i could be mistaken.

the artist could have chosen not to take on the job, or thought the pay was too low or one of a hundred reasons.

The art on the box is much better and noticeable different.
