Aqualish Hired Guns -- a homebrew conversion

By matthewjksullivan, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I've gotten up to some of my old tricks... this time, it's adding some biodiversity to the Mercenary Faction by introducing the Aqualish Race to the honourable profession of being a Hired Gun.

As I've done before ( http://www.oldenhammer.com/2015/07/mon-calamari-saboteurs-conversions-for.html ) this was mainly a matter of slicing the heads off of old WOTC star wars figurines and gluing them on to FFG's excellent miniatures. A little bit of modelling putty, a little bit of paint, and pow... It's Walrus Man.

Of course, in this case, I've made the Aqualish look less like your standard green skinned alien. Apparently, some Aqualish have four eyes... and so I set out to make mine look like crab spiders. I was aiming for a creepy, unsettling effect. I'm not sure I achieved it... but I had to try.

Thanks for looking!

Personally, I would've much rather gotten Aqualish hired guns than Rodian Hired Guns, lets one of the lesser known species get some 'screen' time. So thumbs up in my book.

Those are awesome!

Always nice to see a conversion

Really cool! (Also the mon calamari rebels are awesome!)

Well done.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you like the conversion!

We need you to make a homebrew of the hero of The Force Awakens.

Very nice conversion! I'm a big fan of conversions! Well done!!!

Thanks for sharing

And now that I've played with the Hired Guns a couple times, I realize that skirmish-wise, they're not as bad as I originally thought. Their parting shot ability can be extremely useful. It makes them a fun unit to play with.
