You might want to move vader to one of the other ships to spread the points around a bit. At 187 points that ISD has a huge target painted on it.

I really want to try out the tractor beams. The sound awesome. They might not be as useful in a mirror match though.

Valid point. . . Sadly. . . I fear being forced choke for my arrogance in placing his Darkness on a ship other than the biggest one I have.

Haha! Yeah that did actually come to mind while i was typing that.. not sure how much vader would like being stuck on a vsd...

He willingly put himself in a TIE advanced when there was a death star to command.

I'm sure he understands the idea of "the biggest target is the likeliest to go down"

I like the lists, though I'm not completely sold on Precision Strikes. With neither Screed nor bombers there's the risk of quickly falling behind a Screed or Dodonna list. I guess if you're playing that objective you can use Vader's ability to go fishing for crits.

I'd lean towards Advanced Gunnery here. Sure, you've already paid for Gunnery Teams but I still don't think your opponents will be that excited about letting you double-tap using that Avenger. I guess the big risk of using Advanced Gunnery is if you run up against Ackbar with an MC80. Still, in that case the MC80 still likes to engage at red-dice range, and if you're taking 6 red dice at two of your ships that's probably a fair tradeoff to then fire 14 red dice (2x4 ISD, 2x3 VSD) over 4 attacks with rerolls and hugely limiting his redirects.

If he loses his ISD with advanced gunnery that's almost 300 points. Way too risky if you ask me.

That's true, it would be a pretty big hit. I just wonder if it's worth the gamble, for the extra damage it will do, and the bonus points for taking out the opponent's objective ship.

I'm mostly looking for a way out of Precision Strikes, but that's largely since I'm pretty spoiled for it. I normally use Dodonna who combos with it ridiculously well, and see Screed lists pretty often who likewise are capable or bringing up the criticals. But I suppose Vader's rerolls increase your odds of bringing up a crit and the XI7 helps with the chances of knocking that crit through shields.

Dodonna only combos with the acquisition of the crit.

I am using Vader who let's me reroll and I am rolling many dice per attack so it is likely that I will see a crit.

Dodonna actually does not help anymore in Precision Strike than any other Commander. Only Screed truly works well

The ISD is a worry but you have to take some risks.

Good point, though I tend to think of Precision Strikes with Dodonna because his lists are typically built around doing crits (Pride, Luke, Protons, XX9s) so have access to them.

But with Vader you should be fine with Precision Strikes. Even if you don't roll any crits, you should still end up with more hits than you normally would so once the first hit lands any further shots can be flipping cards. And in the 1.5 list you've got enough TIEs to flip a few more cards.

Yeah, I think I'm back with you on Precision here. While it's not a clear-cut "must take" for this list it should get the job done.

Precision Strike is one of the best for this list.

I don't want to be giving away Advanced Gunnery, Most Wanted is bad, and Opening Salvo can be VERY bad against a concentrated fire of the ships which rebels enjoy the most.
