Ran it twice so far. I like it but I'd love to hear what you don't like about it! Or if you have ideas on how to improve upon it.

Maybe drop one of the Scimitars for something a little more survivable? Or two TIE fighters? It just seems to me like you've got a lot of points invested in very low PS ships.

I think it looks fun, but it's very clearly gunning for large ships that have shields. If you were up against a TIE swarm, for example, I think you would get demolished. The Cluster Missiles would put some damage on a handful of fighters, and the Plasma Torpedoes would practically be dead weight. Same with the Ion Pulse Missiles.

Suggestion: trim something down so you can get bombs. Maybe exchange one Plasma Torpedoes for Ion Pulse Missiles, and turn Jonus' missiles into Seismic Charges. Alternatively, you could drop Jonus' missiles and Extra Munitions to put Seismic Charges on each of the Scimitars.That depends on how much damage you want Jonus to be contributing.

Parakitor, it is loads of fun and hits like a Mack truck. I played it against double pancake and a scum build consisting of Fett, Cobra, and a YV-666. So a lot of large ships in those two games. I agree with you to a point on swarmy lists, thankfully the Plasma Torpedoes aren't super expensive for 4 die munitions so I don't see it as huge if they don't have the opportunity to shear a shield versus another 4 ship list or a swarm. Plus there's plenty of shields out there outside of Empire lists. The Advanced is there for arc defense. With proper board control I'm not too worried about something like brobots. A Phantom on the other hand is worrisome.

Jonus has "stuff" on him because I have 6 points. I can't fit in a better Advanced pilot that serves a real purpose with the role I want him to play for those points. I also can't see a better 22-28 point ship for that arc defense role. I don't want to pay 22 points for a buff bot. Even if he's a great buff bot for the other 2 bombers. He has to put out something more than his 2 dice. So I figured the Ion Pulse was a good play for big ship control. Works for little ship control too but something else would obviously be better for that purpose.

I could drop a bomber and with those points play a second Tempest Squad while putting Ion Torpedoes and Seismic Charge with Munitions on Jonus. That gives me better swarm control and probably better end game play. Against the Scum list I lost my first bomber after only shooting off one Cluster Missile. Bummer. That Advanced did take out Cobra which was super fancy! But I ended up losing that game. Mostly because I flew too aggressive. My fear here is if I only play one Scimitar squadron pilot then when he goes down first (because why wouldn't you kill him first) then my offensive capability is severely neutered.

I have a tournament coming up a week from Sunday and I'd like to take some variant of this list instead of my usual 6 Tie "Ace" swarm. Not because I'm tired of winning with it ;) but I'd like to show up with something equally classic, Empire, and offensively strong.

You might consider changing the Ion Pulse missles for Flechette Torpedoes.

This frees up 1 point for an EPT on Jonus, which could be Veteran Instincts to allow him to shoot earlier Or you could go with Deadeye - which helps you fire the torpedoes.

The other benefit is that if you miss, the defender will take a stress (if hull is less than 4.)

If you hit - you also get the full damage from your dice, instead of reducing it to one hit. The stress can be useful against aces and Brobots and the Phantom.

I understand your choice of Plasma Torpedoes - least costly missle/torp to get you a 4 dice attack and potential extra effect.

First game out was against Chewie and Lando. Very defensive build. But the scissors to my rock imo. The only ship I lost there was the Advanced and that was my fault. He got out ahead of the bombers and got stuck taking all the shots for too long.

Second game was a Scum list. I lost this one because I flew too aggressive and didn't consider board control like I should have. The Advanced took out Cobra which was fortuitous. I took out the YV as well. But inside of all that I lost the Advanced and a bomber. Fett took out the last Scimitar pilot and we called it at 75 minutes. Fett and Jonus were fresh but unless I could have gotten lucky and ioned Fett off the board... well it would have been very uphill. LOL But with better flying on my part I think I could have taken that list pretty handily.

I would like to keep these ships but I'm open to all suggestions. I have a lot of Empire to work with. This list just struck me as very classic Empire and it is fun to fly.

Nice little battle reports. I apologize that I didn't see the Tempest in your squad, and was too tired to realize it was 22 points shy of 100. Somehow, that makes everything alright. If you have an extra ship to primarily be a damage dealer, then I agree that Jones would be very helpful locking down large ships so your bombers can get shots. You also make a good argument for Plasma Torpedoes because Jonus is right there helping with rerolls, too.
