How about if Admiral Piett would allow to add an additional die of any color to the dice pool for a Concentrate Fire Dial, forward arc only.
Fan-designed upgrade card ideas
Kamikaze upgrades:
This ship both deals and takes 3 face-up damage cards while ramming.
What about Piett. When you use concentrate fire command you could add a dice of any color to the dice pool and the execute the command.
Only front arc.
30-35 pts.
Add extra dice by size it's not that overpowered it will be the imperial ackbar. Only much more limited as imperials ships have a hard time mantaining it's front arc compared to rebel broadsides.
Ofensive retrofit: target jammer 10 pts. Ships at range 1-5 only can shot at short-medium distance. More likely for a tittle of some interdictor ship.
All right, how would this sound for Admiral Piett:
Increase to 36 points
"When a friendly ship is attacking from its front hull zone and spends a Concentrate Fire dial or token, instead of affecting one dice, it affects a number of dice equal to its Command value."
It would remain basically unchanged for the poor Raider, but could get pretty ugly for VSDs and ISDs, adding and/or rerolling 3 dice.

Wuha! Like it. Maybe a it too strong still.
How about this:
"When a friendly ship is attacking from its front hull zone and spends a Concentrate Fire dial, add as many dice as tokens assigned to your ship"
wording could be better but I guess you get the idea behind it.
I'm concerned about needing to camp tokens to make it work well, which would result in some "constipated" ships, plus it adds additional trigger conditions (specific order from specific hull zone plus number of tokens), which I get unsure about. I'd be amenable to increasing the cost if it seems too good, but given how strong Ackbar is at a similar points cost*, the cost felt in the right general area.
I would be amenable to limiting it to "the first time you spend a dial or a token" so that it would be impossible to stack the utterly insane +3 dice and 3 dice rerolled from spending a Concentrate Fire dial and a token on the same activation, though.
*both Ackbar and Piett require an attack from a specific hull zone, Ackbar's cost is turning off attacks from other hull zones and he adds a flat 2 red dice. Piett's cost is a specific kind of command and his reward is dependent on the size of the ship, and Concentrate Fire in general is less strong on larger ships already, so it feels like it kind of evens out.

Yeah I'd assume an Interdictor would be the preferred means of using that kind of upgrade, although the unique titles tend to be more powerful (or cost-effective) than generic upgrades.
Changed Piett to:
* Admiral Piett
36 points, Commander, Imperial only.
When a friendly ship attacks from its front hull zone and resolves a Concentrate Fire command, instead of affecting one dice, it affects a number of dice equal to its Command value.
Because a command only triggers once, it clears up the language a bit. Pretty mean on those VSDs and ISDs, though!
New additions:
Cluster Missiles
6 points, Ordnance upgrade, Modification.
Increase your anti-squadron armament by one black dice.
SW-4 Ion Cannon turrets
8 points, Ion Cannon upgrade, Modification.
Increase your anti-squadron armament by one blue dice.
Quad Laser cannons
10 points, Turbolaser upgrade, Modification.
Increase your anti-squadron armament by one red dice.
I wanted to give some anti-squadron love to capital ships, whose current options are generally underwhelming. I might actually consider something like Point Defense Reroute if I could buff a ship up to 2-3 anti-squadron dice. The Modification trait means they're competing with your anti-ship +dice options like Enhanced Armament or Expanded Launchers, however, and they still fill up the weapon slot you could've used for other purposes.
Fighter buff admirals!
General Whats-his-face (Admiral)- 30 pts
-All unique fighters gain Rogue
CDR Luke Skywalker (Admiral)- 25 pts
-bomber crit: while attacking a ship, cancel all attack dice to deal 1 faceup damage card to the ship.
Admiral X-wing lover (Admiral)- ?? pts
-While attacking, you may reroll any number of dice from an x-wing. Because they're THAT good. Yeah.

My worry here is he'd be fighting with Rieekan, who has a better all-around buff that also affects your ships as well as your aces.

Jedi bombers everywhere! ![]()
I have no idea how to balance that effect. It seems extremely good (if swingy) with bombers, but otherwise awful unless you just spam bombers like crazy.

Haha, I can dig it. Didn't Wedge end up becoming an Admiral in the expanded universe? I might prefer something like "all X-Wing squadrons gain Swarm and Counter 1" to represent that you're bringing Rogue squadron along.
Very good ideas in this thread thus far. I'd certainly like to see Wedge as an fighter oriented Admiral, maybe fighters with the bomber trait gain rogue when attacking ships. And a Han Solo crew that lets a ship activate first/out of sequence would be fun.
Quad Laser cannons
I'd be hesitant to add a 3rd anti fighter dice to the ISD (among other ships). Maybe remove the capability to resolve red critical hits (still count as damage) against ships, thus there would be a significant trade off in making a specialised ship.
For some rebel love, I'd like to see some new titles for the CR 90;
Sundered Heart: At the beginning of the ship activation phase this ship may perform a 1 speed maneuver. Then proceed with the activation phase as normal. 8pts
Night Caller: This ship's squadron value is increased by 1. This ship also gains an offensive retrofit slot. 4pts

Shipyards has you covered for Sundered Heart:

The "Modified Corvette" card already comes with an Offensive Retrofit slot, so you can pretty much use it as-is for Night Caller. But I might add a title later on.
