F&D Pre-made Adventure Lineup

By Ender07, in Game Masters

I am just about done with my EotE campaign and will be starting a F&D campaign with 5-6 people at the beginner level. I have been told that there are some adventures that should be run before/after others and I wanted to get opinions before I go out and buy the BG or Chronicles of the Gatekeeper...

I want my players to have about 2-3 sessions before they have functional lightsabers, since finding the crystals and constructing them will be part of their training and help them better establish their characters.

SemperSarge mentioned the following in a previous post:

...Are you planning on running any F&D printed adventures? If so, I took a look at them and decided to try to run them in this order.

I like the idea of my F&D PC's constructing their own lightsabers, instead of starting with them for free.

1. Lessons from the Past (F&D Core rulebook)

2. Hidden Depths (F&D GM Kit)

3. Mountaintop Rescue (F&D Beginner's Box Set)

4. Lure of The Lost (F&D downloadable adventure)

5. Chronicles of the Gatekeeper (F&D adventure book)

The PC's could always find some nice gear in the temples in these adventures too, thus requiring them to not purchase anything.

Note, doing this the PC's would also have a mentor (from Mountaintop Rescue) who could help them out a little.

This way, money became less of an issue in our F&D games.

And the focus stayed a lot more on mastering the Force.

Does anyone else have any experience with the pre-made adventures and have an opinion on which order they would be best to play through?

Thanks!

In my opinion, that order seems good. You can also skip the first 2 if you want since the PC can acquire lightsaber in the Mountain Temple.

I’m currently running “Lure of the Lost”, but we had a GM change at the end of our previous adventure, which was NOT “Mountaintop Rescue”. IMO, LotL is better served if you can run MR first, as there are some plot hooks that don’t have anything to hang on, or which are not as well explained/explainable, unless you ran that adventure before.

I’m doing okay with LotL, and I’ve managed to wing a couple of side adventures that turned into a full nights worth of gaming, but I still think there are a few weak points.

I am currently GMing in this order-

1. Mountaintop Rescue. Done with pre-generated PCs.

2. Lure of The Lost. In progress with Knight-Level PCs, pre-gen are NPCs.

3. Lessons from the Past. Planned follow up due to players narrated Mandaloerian lore to the backstory of Spintir, and PCs involvement with its university. Very fitting to be stringed next... :)

Depending on how it will work out (and if I will be loaned the adventure book), I will string the other two in varies way.
