About com's relay..... Red ace (ps6 T70) + coms relay + R2-D2. Wouldn't it be wrong to make that cheaper?
It's wrong not to give that poor bastard an EPT slot.

Is going to be worse to face than Dark Curse. I think Comm Relay is almost an auto-include on the named FOs, maybe even on the generics.

Honestly, I think it's going to be meta shaping. Think about a lot of big power ships in the game, and then think if they could beat this guy one on one.

@OP
It’s not what you say but the way you say it.
if you're trolling.. fine. please do that in the troll-forum. if you're new here: please, change your tone. insulting people right away etc does not make you look very mature (at least from my point of view).
apart from that (the tone is what annoys me the most..!) - it is a quite powerful card. maybe you should just WAIT till it's out and TEST it a while..
enough feeding for now..

Kanos wakes up in the morning and weeps.
Defense always costs more than offense because they want games to actually finish.
As others have noted, this is basically a refillable shield upgrade. At 18 points, the cheapest TIE/fo effectively becomes a naked Tempest against most attacks (exceptions apply for Carnor Jax, Autoblasters, Ten Numb crits, and Homing Missiles), with the ability to regen one point of shielding.
A T-70 with Integrated Astromech, Comms Relay (and a 1 point Astromech) effectively has 8 health if you've got Jan Ors crew somewhere nearby, as long as Jan stays alive one of those points can regen. That's 28 points for the cheapest T-70.
I'm not much of a fan of that combo, as it requires that you also have invested in a ship with a) a crew slot and b) Jan Ors crew. The combo also dies with Jan. I'd rather just run the T-70 with IA and a 1-point astromech for 25 points and 7 health.
If I'm going to use the regenerating shield point combo, I'd probably take R2D2 and Red Ace. First turn, fly him into a rock, remove a shield, and get a free evade token.
Han Solo crew seems a bit pricey for what he does; he's basically just insurance for when a Focus is superior to a Target Lock and you don't have a Focus, which is nice but doesn't seem 2 points and a crew slot nice to me.
EDIT: Looking at Flight Instructor, it seems decent against TLTs since they're generally 2 skill and he rerolls for each shot. I haven't played with him though, so maybe I've overrating his capabilities. And at 4 points he is very pricey.
I expect that Han crew might see some more play when a Rebel ship (other than the B-Wing) that has both a crew slot and a system slot gets released. The four point combo of Han and FCS will be strong.
The ship you're looking for Han crew is coming out in Wave 8, the VCX. Even better, it has the evade action.
i dont understand how a 0 agility ship has an evade action, but okay...

Not really, he would have to spend the evade before the opponent rolls defense dice. Juke would never proc. He really just needs PTL and he'd be **** good.

His ability should've been Juke,

Yup. Higher PS enemies would want to shoot at him instead of whatever else was in your list to rob him of his evade token.

Good thing no one runs him, otherwise this would be an issue.

The effect would be more pronounced if two ship builds had remained popular. Unlike Dark Curse, Omega Leader only effects a single enemy, everyone else can modify their attacks. Rounds that he needs to choose between taking a Target Lock or an Evade will be rough for him.

... because he doesn't have an EPT slot. With an EPT slot he wouldn't be quite as popular as Soontir and Vader but he'd show up in a lot of lists.
I mean it's obvious why he isnt flown, but still.
3 points for a bankable evade seems like a bargain to me.
I came here expecting to see someone talking about Rhymer.
I came here expecting Flight Instructor.
I made a list for reals for Rhymer. Ain't got the guts to do that for Flight Instructor.
Back before TLT, we always were asking if Sensor Jammer would ever have any uses.
SJ has always been good on a pair of Sigmas with support from Carnor. Apart from that though...
Defensive cards should be more expensive than attack cards since the game is meant to be stacked in favour of the attack.
If you haven't tried Flight Instructor and Sensor Jammer on a VI ACD Whisper you don't know what you are missing. Makes Whisper survive a long time even against TLT's due to the Flight Instructor defensive reroll and sensor jammer. This is my standard kitting for Whisper these days when I run her.
I flew my Whisper with 2 Storms with AC and Cluster Missiles against the old standard Whisper(VI,Gunner,FCS,ACD) with 2 RGP's with PTL and AT at a recent tournament. I won the game 100-0. I made final table in this tournament against Feedback Array brobots and only lost due to FA. The round prior to final I played against two glitterstimmed brobots. Lost my Storms but Whisper took both brobots out on her own without taking a single damage.
Having a strong defence is incredibly valuable in the current meta. A ship that isn't on the table can't shoot.
With all this said, I do believe things are play tested quite thoroughly but putting more eyes on it yields more variance obviously. I think FFG and the Playtesters do a great job with these. Sure some things need to be FAQ'd and or clarified otherwise but for the most part they are doing a superb job. I was originally against the MOV big ship nerf but have since seen that it was VERY good for the game. It is way more fun to play now. I never ran a meta list before so the current broad meta is quite fun for me with my oddball underdog lists.
Edited by YnotI honestly think this topic is a good one, even if OP is waaaaaaay off on Com Relay. (In case you missed it, it's great).
Here are cards I am baffled made it through play testing without a squad point change or a change to the card to meet its cost.
Pilots/Ships
Upgrades
Undercosted
I'm looking at the Comm Relay (3), not yet released. It looks like it is garbage. This should be a 1-2 point upgrade easily. Consistently the designers overcost defensive abilities (with the notable exception of C3PO) forgetting that offense is much more important than defense because you can always choose a target.
Comm Relay has essentially the EXACT same benefit as R5-P9. Which costs 3 points. Gee, its like they DO playtest! ![]()
OH RIGHT. LETS NOT FORGET THE SYCK TITLE AND THE DEFENDER. *flees oncoming apocalypse

i was considering running Red Ace with R5-P90X (as i call it) AND comms relay!
</Sarcasm> DID THEY PLAYTEST THAT?!? </endSarcasm>
