What should the PCs do during the Battle of Endor?

By Muddman, in Game Masters

Check out the Shattered Empire comics. They involve the immediate aftermath of Endor, and are canon. There is info in them that could be of good use.

It was an attempt to draw the Imperial Navy away from Endor, although it didn't take. It's not clear if Ackbar's attack fleet is the same one mentioned by Vader or not (which I think it isn't), but if the Alliance divided their forces, it stands to reason that something happened over Sullust. Enough, at least, to make an interesting adventure out of it, and enough for a group of PCs to partake in the finale of the OT without treading on the toes of giants, so to speak.

Where has that been said?

Like, the movie? I don't exactly know what you're asking.

That there even was a Battle of Sullust at that point in time.

The only thing the movie says is that the Rebel fleet was gathering near Sullust. It could just have been the main Rebel Fleet staging their assault on Endor. What media is claiming it was a diversionary strategy?

Aside from Renegade Squadron , it was my takeaway that that was the plan just from watching the movie. The Alliance throws some bait out by attacking Sullust, a pretty vital planet to the Alliance. It's such a choice prize, the Empire would have no choice but to retaliate, likely with Vader at the front, then Ackbar and his part of the fleet could hit the defenseless, incomplete DS2 and kill the Emperor. Except, it was a trap by the Emperor, and we all know the rest.

The Rebel fleet that massed near Sullust was the one that attacked the Death Star. Sullust was merely a staging point.
