Frank's Missing Credits

By Parravon, in X-Wing Off-Topic

We all know Frank Brooks is an authority on this game, and whenever you send in a question for an official answer, you'll generally get a reply from Frank. So we all assume he's one of the game's developers, right?

Then why doesn't his name appear in the rulebook credits? Anywhere?

Game Development: Alex Davy and James Kniffen, with Corey Konieczka, Adam Sadler, and Brady Sadler

He's not even in the playtesters list?

Now don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he's not a developer, because clearly we all know he has had a huge influence on this game and its development. What I'm saying is: why isn't he credited anywhere?

I think he should be. What do you think?

Did you see the TC interview from Worlds?

Frank was there for it, and he's still involved in X-Wing but apparently he was put on a different team for while working on a new game, something with Dracula I guess. So he may not of been involved much with TFA core set and new rules. He said he wasn't there much past the start of the Wave 8 development.

Yeah, I watched that and found it fascinating. He did mention in an interview last year that he was fully involved in the development of the S&V prior to their release. I just find it a little odd that he's got no recognition of his efforts anywhere in the game's credits.

I agree. But perhaps he had nothing to do with the new core set, so they didn't list him. That does seem a little odd however. I can't imagine he wouldn't stick his head in Alex's cube/office or Alex his and get some feedback.

Maybe FFG has some sort of 'if you're not officially on the team, you don't get your name in the book' rule. Because I could imagine they bounce ideas off of most everyone there at some point or another.

I knew a Frank Brooks when I was in the Army. Cool guy. My band played his Birthday party one time. But since it's probably not the same guy - then nevermind.

It's pretty common practice at FFG. They move designers and developers around. From the sounds of it, he left fairly early on into Wave 8, probably wasn't involved with the TFU stuff.

I know I'm sad that Netrunner lost one of their lead designers.

TFU? The Force Unleashed? There's more than just Juno Eclipse?

Rahm Kota confirmed.
