It's time for round 2 of A Random Walk to Mordor! A big thanks to everyone who participated in round 1. It was resounding success and you far exceeded my expectations.


For those who did not follow the first thread, this is a forum game where you are given a randomized set of six heroes and a scenario, and you must make two decks with the heroes and attempt to beat the scenario (easy, standard, or nightmare is up to you). See the first round here for more details.


The format is still the same for round 2, although I am now starting with a smaller list of available options in order to convince more people to choose X! The additional fact that the starting 5 options are all pretty ugly is a total coincidence, I promise :D

For players with a limited card pool:​ I have introduced something just for you. Rather than tell me what your restrictions are, just follow this link to a list of 500 more randomized sets of heroes. The catch is that you must pick the first entry on the list that works for your card pool. Then, make a post indicating which one you have chosen.

I'll give option 3 a go! As a solo player, I have a special hatred for Dol Guldur but if you're going to be strict with us Seastan, I guess I have no choice.

If I should be honest 7. Shadow and Flame would be mine, but it doesn´t seem funny Shadow and Flame with Hama and Nori (it would be too easy). Could I take the next one (11. The Dunland Trap) instead?

I had to make use of your extra list :) (Buying the Game Progression style and I just got the Voice of Isengart)

Anyway, I have to go with Option 64, if I'm not mistaken: "Over the Misty Moutains Grim" with Eomer, Fatty Bolger, Dunhere, Aragorn (Lo), Prince Imrahil and Bombur.

I can say right away, that this is not my favorite quest of all time, neither did i ever use Bombur nor Fatty Bolger in a deck. This will be interresting :) But a walk to Mordor should definitely put you out of your comfort Zone, right?

Do you have nightmare mode for this quest? If you think it will be too easy, run it with only 4 of the 6 heroes!

I don't have Nightmare, so I'll give it a try with the three dwarfs and Elrond; Theoden and Imrahil have no business with Thranduil or Galadriel.

You might want to make it even harder! (My suggestion for people who get PtM is to try using only 4 or 5 of the heroes)
