Force users on Raxus Prime

By FeBommel, in Game Masters

Hi everyone!

The players in my campaign are currently on Raxus Prime, gathering replacement parts to make their ship flyable again.

Now the player who plays a Trandoshan marauder decided to buy the Force Exile specialization and become Force sensitive. As we are only in our second session (first real session after character creation) I'd be ok with that.

The campaign is playing some unspecified years before the Battle of Yavin in the Dark Times.

I read on Wookiepedia that there was apparently a junk Jedi Temple on Raxus Prime built by a surviving, crazy Jedi.

Any ideas how I could tie that in?

Have you maybe got any other suggestions how I could tie in my players newly found Force powers?

Help would be appreciated, thanks!

He likely won't know about the force and Jedi unless he's been around people in the know, so he could think that he's a monster/he wields magic/maybe he doesn't recognize when he's doing it.

An encounter with a force ghost, holocron, lightsaber, inquisitor or a force sensitive person/creature might cause him to realize a little bit, only through learning about jedi/sith and the force will he truly know what is going on. Remember, during the dark times, the Empire tried to basically erase the Jedi from existence, so most people will be scared of mentioning them if they were around when the Jedi were still active. Jedi relics will be rare due to the Empire trying to obtain them all.

Maybe he finds a holocron of this long forgotten crazy Jedi on Raxus that he felt compelled to find before they left.

You're referencing the Force Unleashed video game, just so you know. It's a pretty fun game. You can get it digital for $20 on Steam or the Xbox marketplace. It's a bit cheaper on Amazon if you buy the disc.

Anyway, Kazdan Paratus is the "boss" on level 2 of the game. He wields a lightsaber pike, and he is pretty unhinged. He built a whole "Jedi Council Chambers" complete with statues of all the different Jedi Masters, all made totally from trash. I believe he's also cybernetically enhanced. He's a formidable foe on his own, very powerful with his lightsaber and telekinesis. He also sends "junk golems" after the player character...I was always a little unclear on whether Paratus was forming them with the Force on the spot, or what...but in any case, if you have players that have played TFU, they will probably remember Raxus Prime, so it could be a fun reference.

And depending on how far before the battle of Yavin your game is set, he could even still be alive!

Pretty sure i remember Trandoshans having their own force tradition. Based around the scorekeeper and hunting.

Thanks for all the answers so far!

@Plan b: Do you know anything else about the Trandoshan force tradition? I didn't find much on wookiepedia, only that they usually didn't join the Jedi or Sith order and used their powers as an advantage in bounty hunting. Did they have their own teachers, wise-men, etc.? Or did everyone learn to use his powers by himself?

Nope i noticed it on wookiepedia, i assume it ties in with their religion.

Trandoshans worship a goddess called The Scorekeeper and they believe on their hunts they accumulate points that I guess would represent like prestige and status for when they die. They call them Jagannath points. I don't recall any of this actually being related to the force, it's just their religion. If a Trandoshan happens to get bested by their prey during a hunt, their points zero out and they have to start over unless they can kill the one that bested them.

Thanks for the help. There could be maybe some Trandoshan elder sages/priests on Dosha who know the ways of the force and think it's the power of their goddess gifted to them? Their goal is of course to use these powers to achieve an even higher score...

Thank you for the ideas. I'll talk to my player how he wants to advance his character. Either this route or maybe he wants to learn the ways of the Jedi.

As I haven't mentioned the exact time frame of the campaign to my players yet (I envisioned it rougly around 10-5 BBY), I think, I'll move the time frame along to 2 BBY and let my players stumble across the abandoned Junk Jedi Temple (a few months after Starkiller killed the Jedi there. I hope it get's a little creepy when my players enter the High Council chamber and find all these rusted and broken replicas of the deceased Jedi masters. And then the Trandoshan in the party could detect some strange feelings - maybe have a little vision of sort.

Well I've got two weeks untill our next meeting to think of something interesting...
