Armada or Imperial Assault

By Trajan1, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I love both but I prefer Armada to IA. They are both fun but Armada is quicker to set up, quicker to play and quicker to put away. (note: I've only played the campaigns in IA so I know nothing about skirmish) and I personally have more fun playing Armada.

I do need to get around trying skirmish but if it is just me and one other person I bust out Armada for now. If it is me and 2-4 other people I bust out IA.

If you want to play 1000 points, why not play 1000 points?

It would cost about a million pounds!

As a campaign only player, the easiest solution is to leave the game at the Imperial player’s house, that way he can set up the map and figures before everyone comes over to play.

Even a Rebel player can host/assemble the mission maps using Bunnystyle’s tile guide over at BGG. No event text!

Setup time for IA is a pain in the butt for campaign games, so I switched from game-nights to game-days. Once you're all setup it's not bad going from mission-to-mission, it's just the initial setup that's a hassle.

Also, I use the IA campaign app to track progress, which is awesome. It's simply unbearable for me to do it without the app.
