Videos of Rebels winning missions?

By patrickmahan, in Imperial Assault Campaign

My rebel hero group is struggling to win missions and I was curious if there any videos of the rebel heroes winning missions to give perhaps give them an idea of what they are doing wrong.

The latest mission they failed was the finale of the Twin Shadows mini campaign. The mission where they had to destroy a star destroyer (NOT disable it.)

The best thing I could find is this “how balanced is each scenario?” poll over at BGG:

No Twin Shadows missions yet.

Plus, I don’t see why video reports are needed when all players can discuss what went wrong/right post-mission.

Because some missions we don't see how the rebels could have won at all. And sometimes I have to honestly agree with them.

It depends on a lot of factors.

The first and initial run through the campaigns, the Rebels are really behind the Eight ball. All that secret unknown information, you can't open a door without a bucket of Stormtroopers getting dumped on your head, and the worst missions are the "The mission will advance when the Rebels do such and such.", cause then you don't even know what you're going for.

I ran as the Imperial player through our first campaign, and it was a slaughter.... on the campaign tracker. What kept up the spirits of the Rebels was that although they only won two missions, a few of them were really, really close. They kept coming back, determined that the next one would be theirs. Some missions though.... "Just go for the crates."

On subsequent game plays though, the Rebels did better and it evened out a little more. One thing to do is to make absolutely certain you're doing things properly. We thought we were, but it really took about three full campaigns (and the help of this board) to know every little rule tucked away. I'm looking at you, Doors .

This was my experience as well, leading me to believe that perhaps this game is best played similarly to Descent where both players have access to all the information in the campaign book.

If you make the right composition (ehm, Gideon) and play as effectively as you can (purchasing class cards which grant movment or action) you should be able to beat Empire.

Go for objectives. Stand and fight is rarely an effective strategy. Wastes valuable turns.

In the core campaign, my wife played Diala and Jyn and beat me in all but three missions - but I won the campaign.

In Twin Shadows, she played Garkaan and Biv and won two missions and I won two - but I won the campaign.

Well, you can certainly see us lose here...

We did win the first mission, though.

That's your problem right there XD.
