Good elite advance choice for a Missionary

By Arlandiel, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

After a long adsence from the 41st Millenium I am about to start a new Rogue Trader game and decided to play a missionary, since I have never done so before. Our DM has asked us to pick one skill and one talent for futre elite advances that we are interested in quiring (in order to make sure his campaign give us the choice to do so) with the restriction that we have to take them after the carrier that gets them the fastest (for example no swift attack before lvl 5, since the Rogue Trader Carrier gets it at 4).

I am playing renegade Missionary with the Wyrdling mutation with some Biomancy Powers (Dull Pain and Staunch Bleeding techniques) who is at odds both with himself and the inquisition and is unsure if he should consider his powers a gift, a trial or a curse. I mostly intend to focus on purging heretics by fire and sword and fighting the demons of others rather than face his own.

Can someone recomend me a talent or a skill that will expand or specialise my capabilities in an interesting way? At the moment for the skill I am considering between Pilot (Personal) and Command, but for the talent I have no idea.

P.s: On unrelated note, I see that the Missionary gets access to the Lightning Attacks at lvl 8, but never get the prerequisite Swift Attack... is that a mistake or intended for some reason?

RE Swift Attack. Check the Errata. They get it at 4th rank for 500xp.

I think pilot personal and a rocket pack would be a good combo.

Another option is to pick up some Forbidden lore Psykers or The Warp to represent him trying to figure out what's happening to him and what he can do about it.

Flaggelation (into the storm) could be an interesting twist on it. From a roleplay perspective it could be that you are punish yourself from the wyrdling mutation or purifying yourself from that curse. Basically you have to inflict a fresh wound every morning and if you do entering frenzy becomes a free action that day. normally you loose a turn on doing this. This makes frenzy (+10 WS +10 ST, +10 To) a lot more appealing.

Normally its talent that is only available through a specific option via the origin path. There are no career options that have it written in the career
