Ok hello all My name is Cavvote i have been playing L5R for about 12 years now in both card game and rpg and something i have come to love is that the other creatures of the realm can be played. How ever there are some confusing things in the game i have questions on.

First i will start with something that i am trying to wrap my head around , in the creatures of Rokugan book it talk about spirits and playing a shaper changer , one of the things it says in there is that they have a void ring but cant spend void... then like 3 pages later they have an advantage for spirits that give then addition void points to spend. my question is this if they cant spend void points and then this merit give them ADDITIONAL void points to spend does that mean they can now spend void points or that this merit will give them 1 void point to spend ??
