Chain of Command mission question

By erik450, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I have a question. I'm playing as the Imperials and next mission is Chain of Command. It shows Weiss locked in a back room and says all doors locked to Heroes. It also shows at the end of round 2 Weiss' At-St is deployed but cannot attack or move (until Weiss enters it). It can, however be attacked. Can the imperials open or attack the door? If Weiss is locked in that room it doesn't make sense for him to not be able to open it if Empire chooses. Otherwise the Rebels can just attack and destroy the At-St before destroying the door to let Weiss out and before he even gets a chance to get to his At-St! This doesn't make sense to me and I want to know if Weiss can open the door to let himself out to get to the At-St.

I should really look up the citation, but I believe I recall reading that the empire can interact with doors to open them. It is how I played.

P.S. I just played this one yesterday and don't make the mistake I did, don't let Weiss (elite officer) leave the room until round 2.

The door is locked to heroes but not to imperial figures which means they can just interact to open it.
