who won worlds?

By churchwarden, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Can't seem to find a listing of who won? How did Paul Beaver do?

No one. It's not over yet. It's Heaver.

Finalsareabout to start. Heavier versus Martin Hoffman from Austria

Martin won, 40-36. VERY close at the end!

Very close! Did not expect Martin to win, I thought Paul had it all wrapped up. Then boom, parting blow.

That was the most exciting game of Red Rover I have ever seen! The way Martin's team "The Scarlet Soldiers" ran at Heaver's "Crimson Crusaders" and then back into thier side? Absolutely thrilling.

All the while the officers just having a jolly drink in the back.

Suggestion to make the next finals more interesting? Everytime a player interacts with a contact, they have to take a drink. By the time you'd have a worthy bar fight!

Honestly though, congrats to Martin and Paul, you both played a good game and took no decision lightly.

The fact that both players had the same figures, made it very chess-like.

Not exactly exciting (until that final parting blow), but obviously those two earned their way to the top. Met both of them over the weekend. Nice guys.

What were the top 16 squads and command cards?

I think top 16 was all 4x4, or variants thereof, or lists with a bunch of saboteurs. There might have been one distracting-rebels list in top 16 if he made the cut.

There was a list in the top 16 with Chewbacca, Han, Jyn, Gideon, R2 and C-3PO

The top 16 was all Imperial and Rebel, no Scum, and mostly 4x4 variants or Rebel Blast lists, from what I saw. There were a few trooper lists, but they were knocked out in the top 16, as well as the Smuggler Ball.

Is this the same Paul Heaver who won the X-wing Worlds the last three years?

Is this the same Paul Heaver who won the X-wing Worlds the last three years?

Yes. He's also the Paul Heaver who won the USA Nationals at GenCon this summer.

Dude's got game, no doubts there!

That's cool. Was not aware he played this game as well. He has definately got skills. Any word on where he placed in Armada?

Armada started during the X-Wing Top8 round, so he couldn't enter that event. Otherwise I'm sure he would have been in the top16.
