Like loading 4 bombers chock full of connor nets and cluster mines and prox mines and just laying them all over the map?
I'd assume not cuz its pretty easy to avoid them, and you can't through them either.

I've had excellent luck loading Deathrain up and dropping cluster mines all over the place. I probably wouldn't run a list that was *just* bombers, though. Deathrain and Emon are my favorite bombers due to their flexibility and durability but I usually back them up with some maneuverable or hard-hitting aces.
You'll want Punishers rather than bombers, I think.

I messed around with a whole bunch of 4x Proximity lists right after we got the Punisher spoilers, but they're a bit random.
I did this once. 4 Prox Mines, 4 Conner Nets, 4 Cluster Mine sets across 3 Punishers. What happened was I faced nothing but turrets with a lot of health that shrugged it off/could swerve out of their way and still get shots anyways.
Had I not faced something broken and game ruining, IDK.
You build a list built around bombs and you end up facing ships immune to them. Put a bomb or two in a list/run deathrain, but don't base your entire list around bombs.
In their current state mines don't do enough damage and ships that are vulnerable to them have a wide enough dial option along with re-positioning actions make it easy to avoid.
However slightly off on a tangent, I think the detonation of cluster mines should be changed to suffer 1 face down damage card for every <hit> and <critical hit> rolled.
I think you should be able to spend actions to modify mines your opponent runs into within range 1-2.
Yeah but then you have to pick them up off the floor again more hassle than its worth honestly.
I find it easier to place the templates instead.

No, I really don't think so. Maybe have some obscure unique pilot (looks at phantom shuttles*) that can effect nearby mine and bomb tokens nearby sounds like something good. But action tokens are thematically for your pilot not for automated weapon systems. Plus mine and bombs have the effect of area control. They make certain areas of the map a place where no one wants to go.
Edited by MarinealverI had a game where a first round cluster mine kept scum Kath out of the game for 4 rounds for fear of hitting it or debris clouds. Later on I dropped another set to block scum Boba for 2 rounds since he had 3 hull left and wouldn't risk it.
I can see using mines to block lanes through rocks or as an area denial device to close off a section of the board but to drop them everywhere? You're asking to be "hoist with your own petard".
Something that I have been playing with is trying to get an opponent to chase me through a lane in an asteroid field. When they're deep enough in the rocks drop your mines and K turn. This will be a one trick pony because a good player won't fall for it twice. If it works you'll have them w/o actions and slightly damaged. It might be worth it just for the look on their face when they realise they've been had.
I ran a list that was:
2x warden +prox mine +prox mine +advanced slam + em + bombadier
Horton +R2 +TLT
and drove people nuts with the ability to drop mines right on top of ships, where their green dice had no effect. It can work, but it's very dependant on what you roll on the mine rolls
ok ok .. i mean literally like just dropping tons and tons of mines everywehre, all over the map. like between rocks and stuff
I wouldn't do that for any serious game, there I would drop my mines on top of people (really good versus those easy to hit large bases), but a game where I put all my rocks up so I have a pocket in which I can safely fly around where i then put some Cluster Mines into the gaps? Hell yes, that has to happen some day!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I've got a second K-Wing coming in soon, so I will have to try this. Plus, that's 8 freaking Proximity Mines! You could close off an entire sector with that.

It was great fun for me....... but I think one of my opponents wanted to punch me by the end of the game lol. Here's a mine Splat. Here's another Splat. Oh, and another Splat.
Mines, no. I just drop that **** on people. No fuss, no muss and best of all no dice
Been recently falling in love with seismics. GREAT with Tie Bombers for shoring up their bleh jousting and just irritating with TLT Ys or Ks (gotta chase them, get bombed for your trouble)
Edited by ficklegreendiceI love using bombs and mines. Emon with Proximity Mines, suicidal Y-Wings with Proton Bombs and Genius.
With both though you're not simply looking to clog up the board, you're looking for the move which causes a bomb to overlap.
Kavil dropping a Proton Bomb on 3 formation flying Tempest Squadron Pilots (and an unlucky N'dru Suhlak) was fun.
speaking of seismics

that was a joy of a game ![]()
I think you should be able to spend actions to modify mines your opponent runs into within range 1-2.
Why? So you can complain about mines AND turrets being "broken"?
I've done:
Thug + TLT + Seismic + EM + Genius
Thug + TLT + Seismic + EM
Emon + Cluster + EM + Tactican
More bomb spam than mine spam, but I enjoyed it. I've also played against 2 X K Wing + Cluster spam and it wasn't bad, lots of mines all over, but some ships still managed to avoid dying to them.
I find mines are best used if you can get drop them on a guaranteed target. Laying to close off a field is nice, but then the field might just shift to a new area, making the mines useless.

No, so mines will actually do something instead of just hit focus blank after all the effort I spent dropping them and putting them into my list.
