4 ship scum (HWK, K, K, Z)

I think one of the best parts about attending a military college is all the free time I have to think about new builds I want to try during PT time. Then the immediately following disappointment when you realize the nearest LGS is 1 hour+ away and you won't get to play until winter furlough, but that's beside the point.

I started off with a base of 2 K fighters, Black Sun Aces with Predator, and built from there.

I think the K fighter is a solid filler ship, although it dies really fast to TLTs and HLCs, so we need to amplify it's effectiveness on the table while it's there. Predator helps this by providing an offensive boost to go along with the assumed focus action or if the BSA gets blocked. To further increase Predator's effectiveness I've included Torkil Mux, whose ability is to reduce an opposing pilot's skill to 0 for the duration of the combat phase. This gives the BSAs 2 rerolls with Predator, essentially turning every attack into a F+TL shot; some significant offensive punch. Torkil gets a TLT for damage and a RecSpec as crew.

So we're left with 20 points, that's a pretty awkward point value to fill for any faction. I could just stick in a 3rd K fighter but it would be PS1 with no upgrades, and I'm not a huge fan of doing that. You need 4 more points to throw in a pair of Binayre Pirates, but there's nothing I really want to cut from the existing list. I decided to go with Kaa'To Leeachos, a cheap EPT carrier in a Z-95. To give him some punch I tossed on a Concussion Missile and since he is only PS 5 I gave him Deadeye to make shooting it off easier. Conveniently Torkil will be getting 2 focus a turn so if Kaa'To needs an extra focus for his Conc. Missile he can steal one for a turn to help him get a bigger hit off.
