I want to try an imperial squad for the first time tonight... thoughts on this build?

Sure, a similar list won a Nationals, Canadian I believe, this year. I would recommend the second list, maybe consider an Intelligence Agent for Whisper instead of Tactician.

The archetype of 1 shuttle with 2 aces is nowaydays mostly run with Palpatine on the shuttle, but the old version can still be good, weirdly enough because of the guaranteed Vader damage that can't be Palpatine'd away especially in the almost mirror.

I feel like people have forgotten the Doomshuttle - it is still fantastic.

Agree with Deathrain on the Doomshuttle... Think it's a really interesting counter to the Palpatine/Vader/Fel type lists. Allows you build a decent Whisper which you can't really do with Palpatine. Also agree that Intel Agent might be more use than Tactician. I used to run this list back before Autothrusters came out and always took Rebel Captive.

I wouldn't take gunner on Whisper without FCS, personally. Perhaps FCS + rebel captive instead on the first list

I prefer Jax here than Fel, but that's my personal preference...

Edit: I forgot about rebel captive. Having Fel in there to take the stress instead of Whisper is handy (although then Fel cannot push the limit, but still gets a focus before rolling the red dice...)
