One theory that I heard, is that luke started the Knights of Ren. Luke isn't Kylo but if they turned on him, that would explain how Kylo Ren gets the helmet.

i'm totally with you on that. That would be the perfect story line. But when has hollywood ever done what they "should"?

That "our destiny" is just another perfect misdirection to make everyone think its Luke.

Yep. Wouldn't be surprised if Han is Kylo Ren's father, who kills him for obvious daddy/family/darkside issues. May not be Jacen Solo, but it would be cool for them to do a rough parallel (obviously one better done, with no Karen Traviss involved).

And no, Luke should not go Darkside. That would be dumb, and completely ruin the end of the original trilogy, all for the sake of shock factor. It wasn't done in RotJ because they realized how bad of an ending it would be.

No. In Vader's case, the entire point of the PT was him turning to the dark side, with the OT being his redemption. Luke resisting the temptation of the dark side made that possible, and became a good counter to Anakin's fall. To have Luke fall (off screen) would not only be ridiculous, it would be crappy writing of the worst order. Even Dark Empire made it very clear that Luke really hadn't fallen to the dark side, but he was getting muddled in it far more than he should have.

JJ- King of misdirection-Abrams would never secretly use a Fan favorite villain, and not tell everyone...

Seriously though, I would not be shocked at all if two things happen in Force Awakens: 1, there is a blue skinned dude with red eyes sporting a white Imperial uniform. 2, that old fortress Han, Ray & Finn are seen walking into is the home of Fett's criminal organization. "I know a guy who can get us in... Only problem is he really hates me!"

I thought the choice of music was curious, definitely fewer of the more traditional star wars themes. It was still great, just different from what was in the other trailer/teasers. And boy, that ending... ominous. Am definitely going to need to pack some tissues...

I've said since they announced it: all I want is the barest nod to the Heir trilogy: a passing reference to the Outbound Flight, an imperial officer named Pellaeon, appearance of a Noghri bodyguard/assassin... Hell, just name a Star Destroyer Chimaera.

I know the movie will diverge from Zahn's storyline, and that's okay, but please, JJ, at least acknowledge it.
