Very nice. Personally, I'd drop Crack Shot and change the Tactician to a Recon Specialist, but that's just my personal bias. I agree that an EM-Slave I would be really fun.

Your upgrade bar gains Tech slot.

At the End of End phase, if you have unspent Evade tokens, you may restore 1 shield after removing them.

Might make Scyk-swarm better because you can run away and restore that single shield.

Or maybe I should also add 1 shield and increase the price?

Heavy Y-wing refit

Modification: 4 points

Increase Attack, Hull and Shields value by 1 point.

As a Galactic battlegrounds fan here, I truly love the look of beefy double-engined Y-s

Hmmm. It just seems a bit odd. You'd think a turret would be best utilized by a crew member. But here you've stripped the turret to add a crew. What is that crew member supposed to be doing in there? Well, I guess the same question could be asked about the B-wing.

And then he is free to track targets, aim and configure ordance and all that.

Seems legit to me, making Y-wing a true heavy attack craft, not some weird gunship o_o

So I got in a quick test with the Evade+tech Defender fix, playing Rexler and Vessery with Relay, HLC and Juke. They brutally slaughtered relayless tie FOs who coulldnt stay out of my arcs, Alozen and my opponent's normal vesery.

Field test report:

Enforcer Firespray is brutal.

Kath Scarlett + PTL + Veteran + Engine + K4 + Enforcer = EPIC ownage. 1 bank+boost+focus = 4-5 dice with TL and focus. Rage incarnate.

Racing Scyks are epic trolls with green banks becoming white segnors, but still almost useless due to low skill (hard to dogfight against enemies that just boost-roll out of your arcs)

Most other things will be tested tomorrow.

Maybe it's a good idea to turn playtested cards into graphic form (I've seen .psd template files)

Your "eternal trust and faith" in Firespray's capabilities are yet to be proven outside your mind, because it's not wave 2 out there any more.

It's still an overcosted ship with not_such_epic PSes in a world of uber-turrets and boosting shenanigans.

Boba is one of the best PS10 pilots for scum. Of course there is not much competition, but he is good. You do not need boost to compete, you need to play well.

PS10 means you already took a veteran EPT.

That means you're stuck with 1 action (2 if you have K4 droid and stick to greens that aren't great...)

Though today I had a game of Uber-Bossk+PTL+K4+Boost Fett

against Vader+3xAdvanced all with targetting computers.

Even at last 1 hp, with 0 pilot skill crit, Fett survived. and won.

Sure, his innate reroll ability is great, no, TREMENDOUS

but the price of Firespray reaches cost of fat turrets. And it's by no means as customizeable because of 1 crew slot.

Good but not even close to tournament power-levels.

So I've been thinking how to "tone down" the tech+Evade Defender fix. Saving actions works wonders for the generics but opening up Juke is too powerful on the named, HLC armed defenders.

My first thought is Moldy Crow- or at least, a single focus version of moldy crow.

My second is to let Defenders spend a Blue Target Lock Token as if it was a focus, like the Han Solo Crew noone uses.

Epic K-turn right into the enemy face, blocking the corner of enemy

Lando AND Pony Dameroni, denying it a focus, dealing it 1 ion token but no damage to pony

and damage+ion to Lando.

Dace trolltastically gave Lando a damage for it, making a green and cleaning the stress afterwards via green.

I missed the 2-range to stress the guys, yet enough to send some TLT shots flying.

Lando got uber-lucky, making a HitHitCrit shot, blasting the TLT right off the Spice runner.

yet the enemy luck ran out just the same way.

proton bomb obliterated poe and lando, and Intel agent let me block him again using inertial dampener.

Yes, 2 stress, a double damage crit from your own proton bomb...

But that was the last drop. The enemy called me a "wookie hole" and then we played a fun game without powerplay, with Kihrazes, Scyks and Defenders...

When you see all the Boostless\Turretless ships washing out of meta

or getting reduced to "okay, here's and A-wing\Ceptor\3 Ties for blocking so that I can arcdodge more"

And Epic becoming a new home because there your stacks of extra tokens and unique-snowflake-abilities getting shot by concentrated line fire

You start appreciating good games with no Uber-PS-Boosting and where positioning is done without seeing the situation.

Suddenly PS4 generics see the light of day, ordance has uses and arcdodge stops being the answer to most things.

SO yeah, I have a narrow view on the "extremely well balanced game"

So well balanced, that you can take tournament TOPs and shed bloody tears, seeing Autothrusters and TLTs in every roster. The closest thing to tops in local tournaments is our "dice god's " Swarm.

p.s. Let us not speak of "the most maneuverable ships in entire game" going under YT names with boosts...

I honestly think the main problem of the Defender isn’t the attack. It have many options to optimize a good attack and now, with TIE mkII giving the new six greens, the Defender can equip PTL and be less predictable when quitting the stress.

The problem is that this ship costs in order of 30-40+ points and his options of defense relies in his green dies and keeping the focus for the defense. The defender isn’t an Interceptor, it can’t BR and boost in order to evade arcs. So it’s a Jouster, but because it’s not a good idea to trust in the green die, the Defender tends to fall quickly. And man, it can be the half of your list…

So I think the best way is to give the evade action to this craft, but not directly in the actions bar, but through an activation by a tittle. For example: Space superiority (TIE Defender only): When you receive a stress token you may perform a free evade action. 1-2 points.

That makes the defender more versatile, and the use of the red turns could give less predictability to the movements of the Defender. We can make a red turn, gain the evade, and for example, with wired, reroll eyes when stressed. And we also have 10 green movements if we equip the TIE MKII.

And we are glad the TLTs came to save the day

There's an EU variant of the Y-wing called the BTL-S3 Courier, which sacrifices the turret, and fire controls for passenger and baggage space. I think thats what your turret retrofit is trying to accomplish.

As for Racing Scyk, instead of giving Boost, which is gross for a title, as it allows you to equip Autothrusters, how about this:

Fast Scyk Interceptor - Title; 0 pts

When you reveal your maneuver, you may increase its speed by 1.

Lastly, this one kinda fluffy (being true to the original design of the ship):

Scyk Support Fighter - Title; 0 pts

You must equip one of the following upgrade cards: Ion Cannon, Concussion Missiles, or Proton Torpedo (paying the squad point cost as normal).
Place 2 ordnance tokens on each equipped Concussion Missiles, or Proton Torpedo card. When you are instructed to discard an Upgrade card, you may discard 1 ordnance token on that card instead.
You cannot perform primary weapon attacks.

I have flown a lot of Firespray's and regularly run a dual Firespray scum build (prior to MoV update) and I am currently testing out a Firespray/y-wing (x2) build. I don't think anything needs to change on the Firespray aside from it's dial. It's two softs need to be green. The fact that the Decimator has these and this ship doesn't simply doesn't make sense to me. The fact the firespray can K-turn is a great attribute of the ship, but it has very few ways to shed that stress - 3 to be exact. To me, it makes the Firespray thematically not seem like the fairly agile ship it should be. Outside of that, there is a lot to like about the Firespray and I wouldn't change anything else.

The Defender, to me, is the number 1 ship that still needs a fix. Compared to other ships of similar hit points, it is way too expensive for anyone to ever use. It also has always been my favorite star wars fighter going way back so I really want to be able to fly it. It needs an A-wing like point reduction to be viable. It's silly I can pull an IG with one more shield, one more hull, and more slots for the same points.

Beyond those two, the Starviper could use just a little love, though I see those way more often than Defenders thanks to Guri. Ordinance is still broken even after the K-wing/Punisher. The K-wing is about the only viable thing that came out of the fix and it has nothing to do with ordinance. Don't get me started on how we didn't give the slam to the ship that initially prototyped the technology in the star wars universe. I want that boat in this game.
