Speculation - I am calling the Jumpmasters dial!

By Admiral Deathrain, in X-Wing

Maybe the physical dial itself is asymmetrical and FFG has been trolling all of you all along ;)

Necrotime!

I just looked and compared the 2400 and Derpmaster 5000

with 1 point of shield less Dengar is 33 points.

33.

Eaden Vrill is 32.

with PS of 3. 3, not 9

It seems the dial of Derpmaster will be the first ever Turret Bigship dial not made of cheese.

Otherwise it's nigh impossible to understand why it's so cheap.

Alas, we're not getting a Batmobile with good 3-maneuvers, it'll be a poor crippled jellyfish :C

Wouldn't it have an easier time turning left than right? Since the engine is on the right side of the craft and the "dragging" part is on the left side.

Well, 2400 is also assymetric, yet works like a charm... having THE BEST MOVE DIAL EVER, with each and every maneuver, including 1 and 3 turns. WHITE

Imagine if it had NO straight maneuvers at all....

THAT would be interesting

(Drunken Banana/Croissant)

That's not half bad - if it also had Sloops and a stop

If you set your ship at 22.5 degrees you can snake it along always having a forward arc, and generally moving forwards. You'd be able to possibly abuse Leebo crew / feedback array to perform an ionized 1 forward....

We can definitely state one thing

PTL+EU will most likely give it more thrust than white maneuvers xD

It's that cheap because it's at 2 attack dice. The real price will be 45, which is just 1 short of han.

If that is your logic then the real price of the YT-2400 also has to include HLC+Outrider, which also is 12 points. And you have to look at Dash. The price difference is significant, Warpman might be on to something here!

agree with the above

the YT-2400 is an earlier case study that can be hyper-buffed with its cannon, which the Jumpmaster does not have and can only replicated with ordnance at a higher investment (basically need Deadeye + recon + r4 before investing in torps + muniitions to make it worthwhile)

a good point of comparison to the Jumpmaster is the K-wing

same exact stat-line + 1 agility and +1 PS w/ept

it is not inconceivable to have a slightly more expensive Jumpmaster with a much better dial, given all the drawbacks to being on a large base (what you gain in movement you lose in a fat ass clipping obstacles and ships, plus the much needed mov nerf)

26 will be the ideal cost for the PS 3, so that a full torp boat (recon, r4, deadeye, plasmas & munitions) comes out to 37; same as Fringer w/HLC

Compare to 2-attack dice 2400 ^_^

2-attack until cannon*

the yt-2400 is about as 2-attack as the Y-wing, or as 1-attack as the HWK (unless you're doing the troll triple IA + APL build)

the Jumpmaster, meanwhile, only has a unique title and ordnance to transcend its horrid primary. The ordnance bit doesn't exactly last forever and the jumpmaster's down a whole shield, so I expect it to be a bit cheaper than the yt-2400

Not the first person to make the point but the closest one to quote. Spot on. Similar stat line but down a shield. Should be cheaper. The dial is also something that is worth points on the 2400 but may not be on the JM5k. A lot of variables.

It also has a salvaged astromech available.
