Galadriel helping player to draw two extra cards per turn, does it worth?

By Nickpes, in Strategy and deck-building

Most propably I am not the first to notice this, what I would like is to discuss if others believe that it is really a strong combo

I was playing with a friend our LotR Saga campaign yesterday. My heroes are Spirfindel, Gandalf and Galadriel (he has the hobbits). While I was making my deck, since I now own the Silver Harp attachment -bought the AP a couple of weeks ago- I decided to include one copy of Galadriels Mirror and two of the Harp. I had never ever included the mirror in a deck.

On my first hand I had both (luckily) and decided to use them on her. First card I draw out of the 10 was Unexpected courage, and cause of the Harp, the one I should discard was returning on my hand.

So I was drawing a card on resource phase, a card from her ability -I was reading her with Unexpected courage to use Nenya afterwords- and another from the Mirror which was always a card I wanted since I was choosing it.

I nearly finished my deck on the 10 rounds we played

Want I do not know is if this combo is really worth it ...

To be nearly sure you will use it, you have to include two copies of the mirror, two of the harp, a couple of unexpected courage and 2 or 3 of Nenya (which is importand to Galadriel). Thus 8 or 9 cards of whom only half will be used for only on Hero. What do you think?

I think that if I'm playing Galadriel I'm imcluding the mirror and the harp.

Yes, it is worth it. Personally, I would go 3x mirror and 1x harp because mirror is more important and can help find harp. You can include weaver or Hammersmith to get back the harp if you accidentally discard it.

I like the Weaver there a lot. Not only it is thematic, she is a good quester with Celeborn, but the timing is easier there than in an Erestor deck. I usually use her to put Tree People back into deck before I play Galadhrim Minstrel, but to recover the lost cards from the Mirroring is also useful.

It's definately powerful. Wether it's worth it depends on the deck your playing I guess. I don't think a silvan deck would require more specific card draw on top of recycling galadhrim minstrel because the deck is already so synergistic it often doesn't matter that much which Silvan you draw, as long as it's a silvan. But using Galadriel's toys does make it possible to play more combo-heavy decks.

Going more off-topic here. I would like to use Mirror in a Silvan deck, but I don't think it's worth it. Just use Daeron's Runes or Deep Knowledge to draw cards. Mirror, while a cool card, is not really needed IMO.

Being able to dig for a cancel seems worth it to me.

mirror is bananas. b-a-n-a-n-a-s, as the saying goes. You can find your "one-of's" every single game. Condition attachment? no prob, I have one Power of the Orthanc somewhere in there; Mirror. One copy of all of my unique power characters, yup, mirror. Want your only Unexpected Courage? Mirror. Find your Gather Information so you can give everybody else their power cards? Well... the answer for that of course is Mirror.

I can no overstate how crazy good the mirror is.

Awp832 has the right idea. If you include the mirror, you can include fewer copies of other cards, especially uniques. Also, with that much card draw, especially paired Gandalf, you can make a 60 card deck, dedicate 10 of them to Galadriel (3x of the mirror), and have 50 cards left for the rest of your deck. That's the power of superior card draw.
