Paul Heaver giving me Ideas

By CheapCreep, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So, I saw PH'slist and wanted to also make the card he made useful! So I thought of this in the incoming wave:

Keyan Farlander — B-Wing 29

Stay On Target 2

Advanced Sensors 3

Intelligence Agent 1

B-Wing/E2 1

Ship Total: 36

Poe Dameron — T-70 X-Wing 31

Veteran Instincts 1

R2-D2 4

Autothrusters 2

Ship Total: 38

Biggs Darklighter — X-Wing 25

R4-D6 1

Integrated Astromech 0

This makes Keyan's survival to R2, where he can see an opponent's move, and SoT to block or get in a good place to shoot, with a stress to modify.

I could also TLT BTL stress Ywing instead of Biggs, just depends how cocky I am.

I don't know

Could be a hard job for Biggs to stay close

Hard to stay close to poe and farlander if he using stay on target and poe boosts.

I guess keep em close them after that first engagement

That was my thoughts with a Biggs poe and Wedge build

The beauty of heavers list is he has a nice blocker, two tanky ships, decent dmg. Little bit of control and a hammer with regen

Idk I'm having a hard time now coming up with anything

As I mentioned in another post I had a pretty identical list when I was messing around with tarn R7, 4z and a stresshog. I never tried it as I thought it wouldn't work, guess I was wrong

Been playing around with squad builders I really do like poe

I had one game he took on Quad tlt after Biggs and Wedge were quickly taken out

Zs are excellent fodder and blockers. And ywings are tanky and I love the btl stressbot

In didn't think r2 would be useful in him though, but I can see why now

Good luck with that.

I think it could work fine. Keyan likes having another team mate that could be considered a bigger threat than him.

Stay On Target works best when you have the highest Pilot Skill on the board. With Keyen being a PS7, and now that we're seeing somewhat more PS 8 and 9, it may be of a more limited usefulness. Much of it depends on who you're expecting to play against, and what kind of builds they use. If you're in a community that favours low PS builds, go for it. I've used Keyen/SoT several times locally, but we have several low PS swarm players so I know I can generally get away with it.

I agree that Biggs will have a hard time sticking close enough to Keyen, as the nature of successfully fielding SoT means you're going to make a lot of post-selection maneuver changes. Unless you know in advance where Biggs needs to be, he may just end up flying wingman for Poe instead.

Yes, but that's why he has Intelligence agent. PS has no say if I know where your PS 8 - 11 is going and decide to park my booty right in the way of or behind it. Biggs is there to allow Keyan to get into R2 and use IA while still being in one piece, at that point he can knife-fight with the high PS and Biggs can go hang out with Poe if he's still alive.

A TLT Stresshog on the otherhand would give Ace's a hard Priority, do they shoot Poe who can regen? Keyan who can react to their moves? Or the Ywing that can lather on stress like butter?
