I seem to remember listening to a podcast (or something) where he said that he wanted to give someone else the chance to be champ this year . . . AND HE STILL WON!

Clearly, Paul is a robot designed for the sole purpose of playing X-Wing. (The real question is whether Theorist was a prototype that went wrong . . . .)

I really liked how Paul's list didn't have any very points-heavy ships. It was spread out, and even his Poe build was fairly minimalistic.

You have to respect someone that can win so consistently without any 50-60 point aces (although he did win with Fat Han last year). Not saying that winning with super aces doesn't deserve respect, but I personally am more impressed by a list with generics.

I see two other potential options for the future:

• Winning the same title 3x in a row means you're World Champion for life, the rest of us will now continue competing for the new title of "World-excluding-Paul-Heaver Champion" (alternative title: "Best of the Rest Champion", "Emperor Paul's 2nd in Command")
• FFG acknowledges that Paul is now actually part of their team (I mean, 3 cards designed by him by the time Worlds 2016 comes around), and he's only allowed to play X-Wing for fun

Either way, great job by Paul, impressive feat!

No really, not being sarcastic. The fact that the guys won worlds three times in a row with completely different lists says a lot about the skill involved, and inner balance of this game.

He's always been about efficiency, I admire that.

Of course... I've noticed they've always been rebel lists...
