Talach vs Parker: Video or Recap anyone?

By gamblertuba, in X-Wing

So Przemyslaw and his 4 TLT Y-wings squeaked out a win against Dallas' Howlie and 6 Obsidians.

I had thought that Obsidian Swarm was a pretty good counter list for Quad-TLT. Anyone know if that game was recorded? If not, anyone that can sort of give a play by play as to how the Thugs were able to defeat the Tie swarm?

No, it wasn't.

That's one of the ones I really wanted to see...

No, it wasn't.

Well, I certainly wasn't the only one who thought so. Any good reason why not? Tie's just too squishy?

They chose a different squad to stream. They don't exactly have a ton video recording equipment.

Another thing they should probably invest in to help make next year mwoar betterer.

Just going to give this one last bump.

Anyone there able to give some insight as to how this game went down? I really want to know some details about this game as it will shed so much light on the predicted TLT meta. Or maybe a quick run-down on the next round where 4xTLT lost.

I was watching Paul's game while this went down, but when I looked over at their game for a second, it looked like the Ys led the Ties around a cluster of rocks and was able to consistently stay at Range 3 running away from the swarm.

Talach's next game vs. Paul was decently close. I think it ended up being just Poe left vs. 2 damaged Y's, but Poe was able to pop them both taking minimal damage regenning

Talach played the match well, with very well setup large asteroids in the middle that I would be forced to fly through (or else I would be taking unanswered R3 TLT shots). The first main firing round had 1 YW die to 2 Obsidians dead, which was unfortunate. I couldn't take the risk of Talach blocking a potential 5 forward through the large rock with the remaining Ties, so I did a bunch of 1 hard's to stall the formation, which put all the YW's out of range when he sped away and kept my Ties off the rock. However, I couldn't get unjammed fast enough with the weird angles, and the front Tie was barely in range, taking some hurt. From then on, I couldn't dodge vast majority of the TLT shots, and keep finished a volley, leaving a 1 hull YW that would then kill a Tie. The game ended a YW and Obsidian on the board.
