Jan Ors piloting the HWK allows her to take a stress to give an extra dice to an attacking friendly ship. How does this interact with dual attacks like TLT? Is the extra dice given for both attacks or just one? Since she can only do it if she has no stress, does the first attack give her a stress so she can't do it on the second attack?
Jan Ors and the definition of 'Attacking'
Jan Ors piloting the HWK allows her to take a stress to give an extra dice to an attacking friendly ship. How does this interact with dual attacks like TLT? Is the extra dice given for both attacks or just one? Since she can only do it if she has no stress, does the first attack give her a stress so she can't do it on the second attack?
She can give the extra die for one of the attacks, not both and it doesn't have to be the first attack. Whichever attack she chooses to support, is the one that is going to give her the stress token, so if you choose the first attack, then you can't do the second. So you can wait and see if the opponent wants to use a focus or evade token on the first attack before adding the extra die for the second attack.
Edited by ParravonTo understand the phrase "When attacking", the steps of what makes up an "attack" need to be looked at:
Attack
- Declare Target
- Roll Attack Dice
- Modify Attack Dice
- Roll Defense Dice
- Modify Defense Dice
- Compare Results
- Deal Damage
Once all of these steps is completed, then at Attack is completed. If a card ability allows a second attack, it typically skips the Declare Target stage (listed in the FAQ) but otherwise follows the steps. Since Jan receives the stress token to grant the other friendly ship an extra die, she cannot fulfill the "no stress tokens" for the ability to trigger for the second attack of TLT (or Cluster Missiles too).
bah. the HWK get worse and worse. I don't think I've used it once.
It's good with Miranda. Miranda can drop a dice to gain a shield, but get it back from Jan. Two TLT attacks at full dice, yet still a regen shield. And all it costs is a stress on Jan. Not too bad.

Or she can drop a shield to get a die, with that and Jan she'll throw 5 dice at range one and isn't restricted to her arc.
As I've said before a few times... please keep under-estimating the HWK. It makes my matches much easier.
