Human Sentinel Shien Experts

By klinktastic, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

It's my first time making a PC for Force and Destiny. I'm familiar with EotE, but there are a lot more options and such of F&D, so I wanted to get some insights and input. Basic background is a refuge youngling that survived order 66 and the erradication of the Jedi Academy on Coruscant.

Human gets 110 xp + 150 xp = 260 xp for an advanced start. Additionally, we can start with either a lightsaber or 40 xp. Currently, I'm thinking of taking the saber, but let me know if I should just grab a training saber and take the 40xp for extra starting goodies. The party is going to be 3 others: Warrior - Agressor, Guardian - Soresu Defender, and Seeker - Pathfinder.

I want to embrace the nature of the Shien Expert, in that they are prepared and use cunning, planning, and misdirection and distraction to gain advantage. I know there are tons of things to spend xp on, but any ideas on better use of my xp should be placed to better use. Thoughts, comments, and ideas are all appreciated. Thanks!!!

If you are gong to use active frce powers (ones that require a roll, instead of comitting force dice), you REALLY need FR2.

The cheapest way for a shien expert to get it is through Artisan, though Shadow, Force Emergent, Seer and Sage arnt significantly worse.

The sense power ongoing effect is a must to easely use counter attack and improved reflect.

I second Mr. 6's suggestion. Left column of the Sense power turns enemies into the keystone cops.

So if you have the basic Sense and the upgrades on the left side (first control, duration and strength), when you commit a total of one force die, an attacker upgrades the difficulty of their attack twice (and this can be used against two attacks per round).

There are no additional costs for ongoing effects when using upgrades?

a committed force die cannot be used for anything else as long as it is committed. It is an incidental to drop power. it is an action to recommit it. wise players that see combat coming commit before structured time.
