I think they want the FA stuff to be on the shelves by Christmas: when they'll get the best free advertising for that particular line of ships that money could ever buy. (Ahem-movie-ahem.)

Seriously, I bet people who don't even play X-Wing will be snapping up whitewall TIEs and staggerwing T-70s like it's, well; Christmas.

I don't think the Gozanti and TFA stuff is truly Wave 8, it's more like Wave-TFA. And I believe the other "on the boats" and "at the printers" are reprints and restocks, not old data (but could be wrong)

Not so for the Imperial Assault stuff. Wave 4 and 5 are both yet to be released, but they pushed Wave 5 onto the boat today (but dated yesterday) while Wave 4 still shows at the printer. It would be unusual for them to change the order, especially because the Bantha Rider in Wave 4 is thematically linked to the previous boxed expansion (Twin Shadows), not the new boxed expansion that will come in Wave 5 (Return to Hoth).

Also, the Gozanti is definitely not Wave 8. They may have announced it at the same time, but it got a separate announcement article and has been following a totally different schedule. It has been on the boat for a few weeks now. It wouldn't be shocking to see them split the TFA ships off from the rest of Wave 8 if it meant releasing them with the film though.

as mentioned in another topic i always thought the FO Tie and T-70 were not really parts of wave 8. and thats why i didn't pre order them with wave 8. same reason that i didnt lump the big G in with my wave 8 pre order. didnt want to have my stuff held up like it did with the Raider.

It's not particularly relevant to X-Wing. It's just another example of how the "Upcoming" page has gotten really wonky (and that maybe FFG is making some weird delivery decisions for the holidays).

That "boat" better be an ISD because the "On The Boat" section is HUGE.
