Paul has two TLT Y-Wings, one with BTL-A4 and R3-A2, a Bandit, and Poe Dameron with VI, ATs and R2-D2;

James has two TLT Y-WIngs with R4 Agros and IG-88 B of some kind, probably with HLC ATs and other things.

Gonna have to root for Poe, I mean Paul.

As an R5-P9 fan, I really want to know Paul's rationale for using R2-D2 on Poe.

Its a trade off. I think R2-D2 gives you more action options, while restricting your movement options. R5-P9 only works if you keep that focus. I think if you have a point to spare R2-D2 is probably the better droid. Especially with VI so you can boost more freely to react to the board.

I did think when the Ion Bomb was dropped that as the other Y was caught in the blast, that the IG would of been too. They didn't measure for it though.

Glad Alex didn't dodge the question about design regret, which he answered old Phantom being too strong. I could listen to him talk X-wing all day.

I would say since he doesn't have Lone Wolf R5-P9 gets weaker. Lone Wolf allows you to keep that focus longer, but of course it doesn't work well in a 4+ ship list and cuts your options for deployment.

Lost to hitting a rock. Tough Break, but likely would have lost the IG that turn anyhow.
