Yes, this is true. I occasionally watch MSNBC. I'm one of those people. The difference? I don't run around telling everybody it's a great news source or "IT'S TEH TRUTH!!!" The other difference? Fox took the time out of their busy schedule slamming minorities, unions, healthcare, the working poor, and.... OK, OK... I'll stop, but they took the time to discuss SW on the air. They felt it was that important. That makes it relevant to X-Wing and it's why people care.

End of story.

Yeah - pretty much that entire segment was laugh at the nerds time. I'm sure it was followed on a poignant piece on high school bullying.

Star Wars is an international cross-generational phenomena and has been since it opened on May 25, 1977 where it exploded across the world and in many ways created the modern film industry as we know it today.

Acclaimed philosopher and writer Joseph Campbell outlined the basic hero's journey that has been retold over and over again across all cultures for almost all of recorded history and the characters in Star Wars, particularly Luke Skywalker take this same journey so of course it resonates with us, just like all great stories across time have and still do. Add to that the cultural, emotional, and nostalgic baggage that now almost three generations of fans carry with them as it relates to these stories and you will have massive excitement for stories that parents have been telling their children who tell their children. This new film coming out with the characters that we last saw in 1983 or later, generally when we were children will complete their story. What happened to these people that we have grown up with? We want to know. We want to continue to share in their story.

It's pretty sad when you think about that had Fox not taken the gamble to fun the original star wars film they would have gone bankrupt.

If you are not into Star Wars, it is pretty cultist and I am ALL for that...but this is another example of Business Journalist need to stick to business just like the embarrassing moderation by CNBC for the Republican Debate. CNBC proved they were morons away from business and 2/3 from Fox proved it too.

As for objective, FOX does blow the rest of the news networks out of the water with viewership and every single network have adopted their model in their programming. So say what you want but just because they don't meet your expectations doesn't give a reason to bash.
