Wave I Fighter Heavy Rebel

By Axelius, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So, was thinking about the "upcoming fighter heavy meta" and wanted to run some fighters with my friend while still in Wave I. And this is what I came up with.

The Rebel Swarm (397 of 400 pts)
Flagship: (87 pts)

  • Nebulon-B Escort Frigate(57 pts)
  • General Dodonna (20 pts)
  • Adar Tallon (10 pts)

Fleet Ship 1: (69 pts)

  • Nebulon-B Escort Frigate(57 pts)
  • Yavaris (5 pts)
  • Ray Antilles (7 pts)

Fleet Ship 2: (64 pts)

  • Nebulon-B Escort Frigate(57 pts)
  • Salvation (7 pts)

Fleet Ship 3: (57 pts)

  • Nebulon-B Escort Frigate(57 pts)

Squadrons (120 of 133 pts):

  • 1x X-Wing Squadron (13 pts)
  • 1x Luke Skywalker X-Wing Squadron (20 pts)
  • 1x Wedge Antilles X-Wing Squadron (19 pts)
  • 3x Y-Wing Squadron (30 pts)
  • 2x A-Wing Squadron (22 pts)
  • 1x Dutch Vander Y-Wing Squadron (16 pts)

Objectives:

  • Precision Strike
  • Hyperspace Assault
  • Superior Positions

interesting but I see those nebulons dying in droves, especially against the new wave, but I like the squadron heavy aspect im working on a set myself.

As a current proponent of Massed Nebulons, it comes down essentially to Claymore Syndrome.

This Side To Enemy

With a Double Brace, and appropriate engineering, they can be surprisingly tough for their long ranged joust - and if you use your fighters as extendable means of reaching out to your enemy to strip shields before the nose shots, then they're useful...

Throw a bunch of Dice at range. I have an Double Brace, that's almost as good as it gets... If you want to get close, then have BomberFun beforehand...

With all those Escort Frigates, you have too much focus on anti-starfighter power. If you want your Nebs to live, you'll need to vastly increase your anti-ship firepower (from the squadrons) - and that means B-wings.

I'd drop Luke, Wedge, and a Y-wing for 3 B-wings. You won't regret it.

If anything I'd keep Luke in that case, as he is the bombiest of them

Needs more NEB's

Sure you can't squueze in just one more?

Also, Garm. ALWAYS Garm. That nav token and the jump in maneuverability from speed 2 to 3 will save your ass more times than you'll be able to count.

Just use all A wings! It worked for the World Champ. :D
