Wave 2 - Do you think this could work

Just been pondering if this could be a viable build....especially with going no squadrons......but a 4 ship activation with loads of firepower.

Almost naked ships with a few defensive upgrades

Rebel Fleet - Its A Trap (400 Points)

1) MC80 Command Cruiser - Admiral Ackbar - Home One - Electronic Countermeasures (158)

2) Assault Frigate Mark II B - Electronic Countermeasures (79)

3) Assault Frigate Mark II B - Electronic Countermeasures (79)

4) MC30c Scout Frigate - Foresight - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (84)

swap TLRC with Gunnery Team, and the ECMs for Gunnery Teams (except on Home One for obvious reasons), and you got a solid "probably"

I think squadron game is going to change a lot in wave 2. With all the cards with the Rogue perk and the inclusion of the Intel perk, I'm guessing we're going to more lists include fighters since they can't be screened so easily.

Looks like a tank. Honestly you have enough ships, i'd drop the upgrades and take a few fighters.

Heres a list with 4 ships i plan on running. I ran 3 vsd 1s, motti and 7 ties during last tournament and did really well. This clocks in at 393 points, room for one upgrade or a decent bid.

1x ISD1

1x VSD1

-Motti

2x VSD1

5x Tie Fighters

That 3 VSD 1 ISD build looks brutal. Too many hull points to chew through

8 actually would drop the MC30 for a CR90 personally but then again with all that gunnery teams potential. . . WOW!

1 isd and 3 vsd plus motti is like 47 hull. You can actually squeeze 5 vsd1s into a list with motti (55 hull) but i like at least a few fighters.

You are at 24 hull i think. Its not bad and i dont rely on building a list solely around hull but it is something to take into consideration.

A key point to note about armada: you only have 6 rounds. You just need to do more damage and take less casualties then your opponent. Seems obvious but alot of people build their lists thinking the game goes forever. I try to get into position, deal a boat load of damage, then limp my wounded ships away while finishing off what i can from my opponents list.

This is a way of thinking I've been trying to get myself into actually. Not quite to the level of dropping ECMs, but certainly when it comes to thinking about Commanders I've already swapped from Mothma to Dodonna for the Rebels and am wanting to phase out Motti in my Empire lists. Don't need your ships to live forever, only for six turns.

Well hp and ecms do help alot. Else your ship might not be around to limp away. I guess it's all about findng that happy medium between firepower, hull, ships and fighters and or options. Motti is well priced for what he does. Obviously tarkin is better, you can easily regen 2-3 sheilds a game plus just having the flexibility in general is nice. I have yet to use screed to be honest.

I also only have played imperials thus far, need to up my rebel game.

Thanks for the help green. I was thinking vsds were plus 3 hp instead of 2. Its been a long day.. ha!
