Disney is planning some live action series on Netflix. If done in the same vein as the Daredevil series this would be awesome.
Apparently old but good news.
I'm as die hard as they come for Star Wars, but I'm starting to wonder if this is too much of a good thing.
I was hoping they would follow through. I don't know about 3 shows, that might be a bit too much, but then again if you go for different eras and different settings it's probably doable.
I was hoping also to get the production values up, instead of a weekly thing, maybe an hour and half episode once a month.

I'm guessing you aren't familiar with the Netflix model, especially with what they have done with the Marvel stuff. The production values are extremely high. Additionally, they shoot an entire season and then release all the episodes at one time. Watch it however quickly you want.
Daredevil was basically a 10 hr feature film, as far as production values go.
I watched Daredevil. I'm expressing what I'd like to see.

Alright. I'm letting you know that if this report is correct, and it is through Netflix, we won't see what you are hoping for. Sorry.
Somewhat relevant. Jessica Jones is on Netflix in 16 days.

And you know this how? Are you on the production staff at Disney?

Well, I'm not even close to a die-hard comics fan (stemming from the fact that it was nigh-impossible to get comics where I lived as a kid, in Sweden... still is), but I'm not even close to having too much of a good thing when it comes to marvel stuff yet ![]()
Actually, that might be because I'm not a super comics fan, but then I don't see that many others feeling differently yet.
(Sure, some, but far from a majority)
That said, I fully expect the generation growing up now to have a very different relationship to Star Wars than my generation (the one that grew up with only the original trilogy in its original form).
Not saying they won't be fans, but may not the same way.

Several years of Netflix original productions, including existing collaborations with Disney.
If you want to say you would prefer a different release avenue than Netflix, that's fine. As long as Netflix is part of the equation, we already know how it will end up.

So what you're saying is you're not with Disney and don't actually know anything, thanks for clearing that up.
At the very least you can look at how they handled the final season of Clone Wars (And literally every other show ever released exclusively on Netflix), and they just dumped every episode at once. Which has its advantages and disadvantages for sure.
You don't really get that watercooler "wasn't that so cool when..." talk until days later when everyone's finished with a whole season.
The only show that I have seen on Netflix that was original content that wasn't released as a complete season is the From Dusk till Dawn series. Both seasons have followed a weekly release which, I believe, is due to the deal worked out wiith Robert Rodriguas. I expect that if Disney does do any Star Wars series they will, in all likelihood, follow the same format that their Marvel series Daredevil follows.

Apparantly, what he's saying is that he's with Netflix and has been on productions that are funded by Disney.
So...

Amazon does the same: Releasing the entire season in one go.

Dusk till Dawn was released on Rodriguez's TV network, El Rey, first from what I remember.

Yeah. I believe that is the reason it was also released an episode at a time on Netflix, usually the day after the each episode's premiere on El Rey (Thursday on El rey, Friday on Netflix).
