Uncomplicated "Fixes." Lets see what we van come up with

By pickirk01, in X-Wing

One of the biggest assets a Defender had in the games was it's firepower. I don't think the rules make enough of it ,especially with it's cost, so that sounds like a cool fix. Stats and dials don't need improving. It just needs to do more for it's cost and linked guns could do that.

Well the TIE Defender still has Firepower. The cannon slot can give it HLC which makes 4 red dice at all ranges. The only thing is that it is the HLC Firepower and you can take it on many things that are cheaper. Shuttle, B-wings, MA-3 Scyks (although this has the least firepower with 2 primary). Still why would you take a TIE Defender when you can save 9 points and take a shuttle which has 4 more hit points. Sure the nerf does make it give up half the hit points on the shuttle but for 1 hit more you get an entire Defender. 3 Green dice don't save 4 hits usually.

Give all Starvipers the illicit upgrade. Glitterstim was made for them, and yet the generics can't take it.

Thematically at least the Vigos should have access to Illicits.

But I think the better way to fix the StarVipers is to grant AT as a free upgrade.

That certainly makes sense!

An upgrade card pack, containing 25 cards, one for each sect. The Imperial one for example would have Tiex1, Adv targeting computer, some unique cards only found in the pack and other wanted cards already out.

I think they would sell very well.

Something like this is suggested about every other month or so...FFG has made it quite clear that card only packs are a non starter for them. It may sell well...but, based on their opposition to the idea, the profit margins aren't there. Why should they pull sales away from the pricer models that people already bug heaps of to sell cheaper, probably lower margin, card packs?

And why would they suck sales away from the raider by including the adv upgrades? No one has yet given me a satisfactory answer to this question...

Being a new guy (13th post) sorry about reposting something that already has been out there. Sometimes a simple token of appreciation can carry great weight by the people that support them.

No biggie. I noticed you were new...no aggression intended.

A simple token of appreciation is nice and all...and I feel they have done that with thur rulings on the dials and playmats. A token of appreciation shouldn't cost you a massive hit to a product line that needs help.

Unscrupulous Aid-Ship

Title

YT-1300 only

Your upgrade bar gains 1 Illicit icon.

You may not equip this title if you are a unique pilot.

-1 pts

The Outer-Rim Smuggler gets little love, and with his unique stat-line that's a shame. I thought giving a unique title option only available to generics would help give it a more unique identity. Allowing a shady smuggler to use a normally Scum-exclusive upgrade seemed fitting. It's -1 points to help balance it with the very useful Millennium Falcon title and because the Outer-Rim Smuggler is already a little overpriced.

The Hounds' Tooth title should be 0 points to see some action...

You cannot equip this card if your pilot skill is 5 or higher.

To keep it consistent with other upgrade cards.

Simultaneous X-Wing and Ordinance fix:

2 points: Title- X-Wing Linked Torpedo Fire: X-Wing Only. If you have a Torpedo upgrade card, when you spend it to make an attack, you may attack twice with it. If it requires you to spend a Target Lock, do not remove it from your ship until after you have made both attacks. You may not attack next turn.

If you knew that you'd be paying effectively half price for 2 torpedoes, which you could use back-to-back, don't tell me you wouldn't use ordinance on X-Wings. 6 points for 2 proton torpedoes and a Corran ability to use them? And even once you spent the torpedo, you'd still have an X-Wing on the board. It'd be ideal for the role it was in the canon: Killing heavy-hulled ships. You could light up a decimator with 2 X-Wings outfitted like this and kill it all at once. APTs would be even worse. Wedge would top the charts again with this. Poe would be even better than he is now.

Twin-Linked Cannon (0)

TIE Defender Only - Title

If you equip a [cannon] upgrade, its squad point cost is reduced by 2 (to a minimum of 0).

After performing a primary weapon attack, you may spend a target lock to perform an attack against that target with an equipped [cannon] secondary weapon.

Bomber Fix to kill the PS-issue

"at the start of the combat phase, you may spend 1 focus token to aquire a target lock"

can only be used if you have at least 1+ unused munition

title/mod/whatever for really 0 points.

biggest problem with munitions on generics is the timing of TL, IMO.

the second sentence is to keep -everybody but bombers!- from abusing the card (soonts/corran etc are out of arc from everybody and decide to go to town etc).

Here's an uncomplicated fix for the Xwing.

Integrated Astromech

I get really bothered that people still seem to think it needs a fix. Proxy a T-65 X-wing with integrated astromech, and you will see it needs nothing more.

I think it's got more to do with people expecting a TIE adv style "fix" when the xwing wasn't as bad as the adv and doesn't require that kind of adjustment. It's more of an expectations issue
