NO X-WING GROUND WAR GAMES...

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

Another reason why... as if IMPERIAL ASSAULT was not clear enough about it.

A few of the guys talk about this from time to time... and I say just do it yourselves gang.

Who is going to pay $75 each for the three (you know you want three) in scale AT-AT's anyhow... which is what it would be.

This new game looks fun... regardless.

Oooooh I want this. NOW!

I need money FFG. Stop making awesome things. Turning the Rebellion video game into a board game is not something I can resist!!!

Though, I am curious about the deal FFG clearly made with Hasbro. Because this is clearly a board game.

Still, I hope for expansions for a bigger board.

 ..it has a SSD in it..!

 ..it has a SSD in it..!

<_< ..it has a SSD in it..! ..****. there goes my money - again. -_-

Check out that little Gon-Zillah, and the AT's.

This looks awesome! Is it essentially a star wars version of TI3? I've never played it, but it only makes sense.

Kinda a better version of STAR WARS MONOPOLY... kinda.

:P

Man, the Gozanti is like the new favorite Imperial ship. It's showing up in everything.

Yup... ARMADA Wave 3 will have a Gon-Gon and Tramp (Transport) in it for sures... seeing this today all but confirms it to my way of thinking, and pondering out our FFG boys for the last three'ish years now.

Oh boy, oh boy...... oh boy. I'm gonna be so broke before FFG is done.

Anyone catch a MSRP or recommended age?

Ok. A few issues with your post.

Am seriously looking forward to this game though. I love the grand, strategic theatre.

I would estimate about 70$, just judging from the box size. I paid 50€ for Runewars, which had less miniatures and no Star Wars license. No idea about age, but it looks pretty complex.

Well, now I have the urge to play Rebellion again.

Thrawn on a SSD. Rebels lose.

I am leaning toward this being a $100 game.

You might be right, there are a lot of miniatures (that all look at me saying "Paint me! Paint me!", I am not even close to done with Runewars). Still looks worth it, though!

My stupid cellphone won't open the link....

Someone just compared this to a star wars Twilight Imperium...Really?!?!?

If that is true there is no hope for my wallet as I will not be able to help myself

Product page says $99.95, Obviously less via online retailers like Cool Stuff.

I'm really surprised by this. I thought Hasbro had the board game license and something like this wasn't possible. But I'll definitely take it! :)

<long string of cursing>

I apparently need to start a 2nd job at Miniature Market and have them pay me in games.

Edit: its as if millions of wallets be suddenly silenced with emptyness... (and preorders)

Man! I wish I had this instead of Imperial Assault. This is the kind of board game I was looking for. I just never expected it because of the licensing issue and thought IA would be the closest thing we'd get to a board game. Pleased to be proven wrong.

If I wasn't already dead, I'd die from the joyful shock of seeing a new glorious game.

Not my sort of game, but I can still appreciate cool.

What on earth does this game have to do with the likelihood of a 1/270th scale, ground based miniature wargame? This is a galactic scale strategic board game. If anything, this makes a ground game more likely since they are, in fact, apparently covering all the various levels of operation.

Um..., no it wouldn't be $75 for a less than 3" tall AT-AT. $30, tops. They'd be a bit smaller than the x-wing scale falcon, after all. How the heck do you figure $75?

3?! Would need at least 4, probably 6 for a proper battle. I already have 2 of the old WotC 28mm scale ones.

AT-AT's and AT-ST's SHOULD BE THIS SIZE in X-WING... and that is a good ole $75'ish FFG Span-tion.

Never mind that I have been more right than wrong for the last tree years calling what we might get.

:P

Now if FFG does a Land Wars game despite the IMPERIAL ASSAULT and this... well great.

I ain't holding my breath waiting for it, because I do not think it is happening.

;)

-sigh- I have been buying imperial assault even though I can't find anyone that plays it. Not even skirmish. Now another Star Wars game... I hope this doesn't mean one of the Star Wars games is on the way out. These things take some serious time to learn to play well.

I'm pretty sure expansions are going to be slower than Imperial Assault. And really, with the Asomodee acquisition, this is sort of what FFG gets out of it. Access to more manufacturing resources.

To be clear, I was asking if that is the case. I've never played TI3, so I don't really know what it's all about. It certainly looks like an epic space warfare/economic engine building game.

Kind of like how imperial assault is the Star Wars version of Descent 2.0.

I have to be honest, while it looks like a cool game... This is one case where FFG won't be getting more of my money for a Star Wars product. I'm sure it will be fun and all, but between X-Wing, Imp Assault, Armada and the LCG... I have all the Star Wars I want.
