Fun deck without Elrond or Gandalf who are op

Deck Strategy:

Created this deck to act as a core to beat everything. Made it focused more on long campaigns, but works pretty well in every situation I have encountered. This is just a core concept. Would love ideas on how to tweak it to make it better at questing, defending, or attacking. Use lore of imraldis alongside Gloin to generate resources. It depends on what you are doing, but usually you should shoot for Narvi's belt in you're opening hand. I will be posting new versions of this deck tweaked for attacking, defending, or questing. Give me feedback please.

Fun deck without Elrond or Gandalf who are op

Glorfindel sp wasn't op ? ;)

Um.... Glorfindel just has great stats ( and low threat). Gandalf and Elrond have massively powerful abilaties, and stats, and attachments, though Glorfindel does have asfaloth.

The thing is with a Elrond or Gandalf deck I can create decks with 99% sucess rates. The same is not true for Glorfindel.

And Light of Valinor ...

Strong deck with Elrond and Gandalf are usually build with Glorfindel sp.

You see Glorfindel in a lot of deck. His low threat is op !

Technically you not only have Gandalf, but his staff as well.

No Sword that was Broken? Why?

And I agree with the others - Glory is one of the most powerful heroes in the game.

Not getting into Glorfindel discussion. :)

Hmmm, Gloin usually requires some extra HP to get the most of him so he can take undefended attacks. Without extra HP you'll need to keep him back to use his armour to keep you alive which might mean wasted actions on a Hero. Maybe in this deck I could consider Sam. You seem to have alternative options for defense in the form of powerful allies. Or another leadership hero that is more reliable in all situations than Gloin?

You have protector of Lorien but also a lot of powerful cards I would hate to discard. Is this working out for you or could you try a more permanent defense boost instead?

Powerful allies abound, maybe that side quest that let's you put an ally from your draw pile into play?

Since your allies need healing, Warden of Healing instead of Daughter of the Nimrodel?

Is this a deck from Sean of COTR?

Is this a deck from Sean of COTR?

Nah, Sean's deck marshals together the HP boosters of Ent Draught and Citadel Plate (x2!) to more reliably be able to take undefended attacks on Gloin. Elrond potentiates the healing that he has in the form of Warden of Healing and Lembas, and he has Lore of Imladris in there as well. The Song of Mocking + hero Treebeard combo is in there too. It's really a dreadfully clever deck -- Dark Knowledge?! -- and you can see it in action on the CotR podcast's Twitch playthrough of The Treachery of Rhudaur.

He posted the decklist in their online deckbox:

I don't usually use my allies for defense. The idea is to open your hand with Daughter of Nimrodel to keep Gloin alive and generating resources. Thats why warden of healing is not included. Protector of Lorien not for defense. I use it for extra quest, and there is usually some uneeded attachments to dump. Also I do have that side quest in my actual deck, I just forgot to include it. To whoever it was I am talking about Gandalf hero, though the ally is pretty powerful, thats why he is in this deck. I know saying Glorefindel isn't op sparked allllllot of replies. The thing with him is he is powerful, but by himself he's not op. Combined with other heroes his threat of 5 is suuuuuppppper useful. But Gandalf and Elrond are very powerful on their own without combining them with other heroes.

Just one question about the deck.

Hidden cache ? I do not understand how you use it ? Just to draw for one ressource ?

It's more frequently used for its discard effect through a card like Emery, Zigil Miner, or King Under the Mountain.

Yes, i know ... You can add A very good tale, the new tactic dwarf, well equiped etc ...

But in the deck, no card of this kind is present. So i do not understand, why this card is in the deck ? Just for the draw effect ?

If yes, why not use We are not idle instead ?

Gloin is noble so you can attach Heir of Mardil.

This attachment is a combo with Gloin.

When he take damage, you ready Gloin.

When you play we are not idle, you draw, gain a ressource and keep Gloin ready.
