Title cards for swarms and/or multiple ships

By Zero8855, in X-Wing

So far we've only seen title cards with benefits for that particular ship, with the exception of IG2000 which gives benefits to all ships (usually two, or more in the case of Epic battles) with that title. I wonder what would the game be like if that was taken a step further, something similar was available for multiple ships. Some can be ship-specific or by faction. Some examples off the top of my head:

Black Squadron (TIE Fighter) Cost 2: When attacking, if you are within Range 1 of 2 or more or ships with this title card, defenders at Range 3 do not get their range bonus.

Cartel Spice Runners (M3-A) Cost 2: When defending, if you are within Range 1 of one or more ships with this title, increase this ship's agility by one.

Rogue Squadron (Rebel Only) Cost 3: Increase your Pilot Skill Value by the number of each ship currently equipped with this title card.

Thoughts?

One; In theory this isn't a bad idea, however, to be thematic the Titles would have to have more restrictions - unless Certain pilots who were not part of the squad can be included. As you have it, Rogue Squadron could consist of Hwk-290's and B-wings or a red squadron pilot with the Rogue squadron title, which doesn't follow thematically.

Two; i say this EVERY time, the canon status of Rogue Squadron makes it unlikely to show up. While many pilots and ships are drawn from the Legends fiction, we only see Red Squadron flying star fighters. There is a Rogue Group on Hoth. It should also be pointed out that with the film Rogue One coming out, any use of a title With Rogue in it will be reserved to reference that movie, instead of the legends (read: non-canon) books. It could be confusing to fans who don't know the legends fiction.

Three; if the concept of a squad title would be better as a generic title that provides benefits if flying in formation/in sync - a reroll within range one of squad member - or, pilots with the squad title can add their dice together for one attack - a cohesive fire, if you will.

Going to need restrictions and be a flat cost to add to your squad and not 2pts per ship to use.

Gonna point this out here:Their association with X-wings is primarily via Rogue Squadron.

Also, at this point I don't think anyone is worried about confusing new canon fans; they're already going WTF is a K-wing/Corran Horn/Fel/Decimator/etc. If anything the Red Squadron Veteran/Red Squadron Pilot as well as Blue Squadron Pilot/Blue Squadron Novice are more confusing than assigning what is likely (Rogue One aside; doesn't sound like the movie has anything to do with fighter pilots) a still relatively unique title to the most beloved group of snub fighter pilots in Star Wars.

I prefer Title upgrades to represent alternate ship configurations, not special pilots.

If they want to add a separate Squadron upgrade, I'd be okay with that.

Are you trying to say that the title should be applicable to any ship, thus ignoring the old fiction? At which point, why name it "Rogue Squadron" in the first place? Or trying to inform me of the composition of the squad from the legends fiction?

It is similar to having a Mara Jade rebel card. As who she was in the legends fiction may not come to be. Why confuse some people just to appease the old fan boys? Note: I consider myself that as well, it isn't an insult.

I do agree that some ships like the decimator could be confusing, but the Decimator is part of canon from the Star Wars Commander mobile game.
