Meesa think all dem poser softies from Naboo should get a cap in der ass. Starting with dat so-called "Representative" Binks. Iffin I ever get my hands on him, oh boy...
I'm thinking that is what Grandmaster Jar-Jar Ren had planned...

As for the planets, I think we'll definitely see Korriban (or Moraband as the powers that be would declare)
Moraband is in Chronicles of the Gatekeeper. and they have more than one 1 page on it
It's on the boat!
New update is on the news. Looks like its going to be a non-standard setting book like the AoR Strongholds book, just with modular encounters. Hopefully will include how to flesh out your own Force Veregence or something.

Considering one of the most known Aleena character is a mad jedi, it is not a surprise.
Life Day is here early. My copy of Nexus of Power arrived tonight.
Is The Trial of Skill adventure based on the Jedi Trials at all?
Oh, I really hope so...
Also, how are you people getting these books so early? Is not even officially released yet! My FLGS won't even get the box worth these books delivered until Friday!
Edited by Absol197Just got my book.
It's gorgeous (as usual) but the layout of some of the "Old Republic" legends pages are particularly striking (similar to the core book). Again, it has great artwork, especially the "full spread" chapter start pieces.
I've just thumbed through it (ok, I looked at every page but obviously haven't read much of it) and I'm impressed with all the planets and locations they've included. There's a lot of Old Republic and Jedi lore love in there.
It looks like this book also adds a lot of material that's relevant before the Empire (e.g., there's a section on the Jedi Temple on Coruscant that applies before the Empire and has a "Current Condition" section, and this is repeated on a number of locations) and is ready for use as-is for non-Empire Era games. Fantastic.
Can't wait to dive into it.
Has anyone received a shipping notice from MiniatureMarket?
Is The Trial of Skill adventure based on the Jedi Trials at all?
Yes. It explicitely states it IS one of the Jedi Trials and is written as if administered by a Jedi Master.
I like the sound of that. Are any other trials covered? I see the makings of an adventure arc here...
The animated shorts "Clone Wars" (not "The Clone Wars," the series) has an episode where one of the masters gives a list of all the trials a Padawan has to go through to become a Jedi. But I'm pretty sure the Trials are unique to the person attempting them.
The sourcebook 'The Jedi Path' also lists the whole set, with descriptions of what's involved, so I can bodge together a campaign. However tips on how to run the set would be useful, and would give players something fun to work towards.
Hmm. For comparison, what does The Jedi Path say about the trials? Clone Wars just names them, but isn't very descriptive.

I ordered mine from them too. So if I get a notice anytime soon I'll post.

The book (which incidentally is a really useful reference source that I take to F&D games simply because it's the best sourcebook on Jedi out there that doesn't way a ton, so I'd recommend picking one up in an entirely I-may-get-kicked-off-the-forums-for-advertising-somebody-else's-product sort of way) refers to the five trials listed below. There are a good three or four paragraphs on each, but for reasons of copyright and a general attitude of 'can't be karked' I'll summarise below:
While adventures for all these can be mocked up, some suggestions wouldn't go amiss.
- Trial of the Flesh - Determines a Jedi's capacity to overcome great pain; historically inflicted either through ritual branding and the like, or through suffering a great injury on the field of battle, as with Anakin on Geonosis.
Is it just me, or does that really not seem very Jedi-like? You'd think that would come up at some point, Jedi getting branded. In my mind, the Trial of the Flesh could also be represented by some physical temptation to abandon the ways of the Jedi.
Also, New!Canon says the trials follow these steps: teamwork, isolation, fear, anger, betrayal, focus, instinct, forgiveness, protection. I doubt they have to be completed in that order.
Behold; Gungans...
Gungans are in the book! Yes! I can make my grizzled gungan bounty hunter!!
"Yousa talkins to meesa!?" *Evil glare* "Meesa no see anybody elses heres! So you mussa be talkins to meesa!"

Yeah, branding seems a bit extreme, to me Trial of the Flesh seems more like enduring a harsh environment kind of thing, without any supplies for a 3 day period or something. Branding is....extreme. "Go out into the wilderness my Padawan, let the Force guide you, it will keep you safe. Return to me in 3 days time, and we will begin your next level of training" Sounds WAAAY more Jedi to me. Branding seems very Sithy.

That's a shame. With a little foresight you could have swindled some copies while in the states for a certain convention.
Did that last year. I'm considering it, I guess I could pop by a store and get one, or get some poor sod to get them for me...

I believe some races, like Mirialan, do ritual branding/tattoos, so maybe that could apply to that trial?
Part of me thinks that's kind of cool, if it's done in a ritualistic way. I'm sure if my Mechanic gal found out Jedi branding, she'd go run off and get it done. ![]()
