A New Star Trek series!

By Crabbok, in X-Wing Off-Topic

Well, to be fair, space above and beyond never made it past the first season.

Great series that.

I hope it's from a klingon pov! With massive glorious space battles!!

Some guy at my LGS told me it could possibly be about Worf...

would be cool if it was like IKS Gorkon with Worf as its captain!

I have never understood the popularity of Klingons. They are probably the most boring species in sci-fi dom.

They are the "proud warrior" race. Every sci-fi series needs one of those. Therre are plenty of more boring Trek races. Like those predator rip off guys who dress as nazi's in one episode. Personaly I Always found the bajorans a bit boring.

They can't all be carassians. ;)

I'm secretly hoping that the new series is about The Deltans..

And that it is X-rated ;)

Well, to be fair, space above and beyond never made it past the first season, losing in sweeps against JAG. Unfortunately.

Which is a bleedin crime, Space above and beyond was really good i have it on imported dvd.

I would like the series to be from the perspective of the Borg. Every week there will be another pesky species to assimilate.

I'd watch that just to find out who where species 1 and 2. It would be cool to see how the Borg evolved into the cybernetic beings tehy are now and how they assimilated their first species.

Star Trek Borg

Ep 47: Scorpion Redux.

5 of 12: "5399 of 6621, This one is resisting. It is rejecting the assimilation process. Error! Assimilation failure!"

5399 of 6621: "What is it's species designation?"

5 of 12: "8472."

13 of 77: "Incoming ships detected. 9 in circular attack formation. Species 8472. Confirmed. Ships firing."

8 of 9: "Where did our planet go?"

13 of 77: "Ship firing on cube 672. Cube ..;Destroyed?!!"

8 of 9: "Ships targeting us. Uh Oh..."

And not all characters can be Elim Garak.

The Klingons are cool in small doses. Just not all the time.

There's a bunch of series you could make.

A Star Trek CSI / Murder she wrote? Holographic reconstructions, locked room mysteries, that sort of thing.

A darker Star Trek Section 13?

A more political / legal drama.

And we need more Romulans. Far more than their former lackeys, the Klingons.

I need a series that revolves around the 20 odd years Roman was hanging out waiting for Old Spock to show up. I'm sure Eric Bana is available.

Diaries of an Angry Romulan.

Day 467: still waiting instead of taking my ship to the empire to boost their tech level and allow them to conquer galaxy.

Considered sending warning about impending doom but decided to wash my underpants instead.

So bored...

I wonder what the new starship will be called...

USS Undertaking

USS Terminator.

Named after the astronomical term of the deviding line between the iluminated and uniliminated part of a planet or satelite. Primarily a science vessel, it proved quite succesfull during hostile negotiations.

Two sister ships were constructed in the following years: USS Meridian, USS Horizon.

Ok more Gorns!!! Green women??? Vulcans???? I got it Tholians!!!!!!

Ok more Gorns!!! Green women??? Vulcans???? I got it Tholians!!!!!!

All of those would be cool.

Gorn: Lizardmen done well on TV would be super cool, and canonically we don't really know anything about them.

Orions: They get mentioned a lot, but apart from an Enterprise 2-parter and the occasional slave girl thrown in for titillation we never really see them. but they are apparently members of the Federation with rogue/secretly funded groups that work outside the law. That would be a really interesting thing to develop.

Exploring the relationship between Vulcans and Romulans would be fascinating ;) , Enterprise did some interesting stuff about the attitude of Vulcans to Humans that would be nice to follow up on.

Tholians: Unique technology and completely non-humanoid alien species. That would be awesome to finally see done well on screen.
