Sometimes I feel sorely tempted to create a thread in the main section pointing outa new item of interest, after it's already been discussed to death - from the perspective of someone who JUST found out about it and thinks they are bringing everyone else the news.

An example would be right now - to maybe wait another day or two, and post "FFG Legalizes BOTH Damage Deck!" - and really it would be simply to troll, but considering I've grown up, I try not to actually troll much anymore - but I still "WANT" to, because in my mind, somehow, it would be funny. Well, funny to me at least. Another good one would have been "OMG A new starter!" posting long after everyone knew.

Saturday Night Live had a really good take on this idea with a character who would appear on Weekend Update and have "Insider Info" on all the new stories, except they were stories we all knew, and he'd get one key detail wrong so it was funny on two levels.

Anyhow that's all. I just wanted to share that my grown-up self is prohibiting my inner troll.

Thread Title : TIE Advanced 'bout to get a lot better!

Guys - Fresh find from a trip to my FLGS - the Imperial Raider! Not only is this thing huge, and looks like a freakin Star Destroyer - but it's got a TIE Advanced with it! I'm thinkin "Oh great, the worst ship in the game" but when I look inside it's got an X1 title and a TIE only specific!

Then I would proceed to post low quality "preview" pictures from my unboxing, and talk about how awesome the new TIE Advanced upgrades, telling users to go out and get one now!

You could start a petition about whether we're not being inclusive to two ship metas, that would rustle some jimmies. Or just give a completely serious explanation of why you think primary weapon turrets are good for the game, and how nerfing them would be a bad idea. At the very least ficklegreendice and ParaGoomba would reach 200% mad before they'd realize you were trolling. For maximum rage, insist that using the Falcon is more skill intensive then using Interceptors. At that point I'm pretty sure someone pops a blood vessel.

I also recall a brief period where insisting that either of the named Phantom pilots was male would cause a brief firestorm, but that ended when someone got fed up and screencapped the article to prove that one of them is male and one is female.

I was looking at the new core set today. Some of you may have noticed that the back of the damage deck has changed. I compared the text of the cards from the new core set and the old core set. Guess what? They are different. It looks like the new core set will make critical hits much harsher. I wonder if FFG realizes this, and whether or not they'll make some ruling about which set is standard for organized play. They could always just let the player choose which deck they want to use, but puhleeze, that would just be ridiculous! Thoughts?

It needs some sort of political angle to it to be perfect. Like evil Republican or lazy Democrat. But then it may be deleted and you suspended from the forums...
