There may be some overeacting here. The TO offered some tips to make the list more effective, is this such a bad thing? This is a game that involves spending money, is it out of line for someone to suggest buying certain ships?

Yes it's out of line to offer negative input on a list without being asked. Same with assuming someone has the capacity to spend more money on the hobby. It's rude and doesn't contribute to a positive play experience, which is really all a TO should be striving towards.

Absolutely. The last thing you want to be doing before a tournament starts is second guessing yourself and the list you're using.

I provided a nice cheap suggestion earlier also don't forget

1.) I have an almost complete 100 point set of all the ships in this game, and I've also ebayed/traded for quite a few loose cards so my opinion carries zero weight, lol.

2.) I'd eBay cards I would need. When flying an Acewing list, you should have half the cards already, (PtL, FCS, R2-D2, etc.) and you can get by ebaying for a handful of the ones you need.

If you want to fly an Acewing list that requires Palpy and you don't want a Raider, you're kind of done ****** though, haha.

3.) Fly some spam list like BBBB(Z) or a swarm. Lists that don't require upgrades/can work with many different ones without losing effectiveness.

4.) In a similar vein with point #3, think about squad building a little differently. If you only have 3 B-Wings and want to run a quad B-Wing list, why not sub in a 25 point A-Wing?
