Any other Imperial players tired of seeing scum included in our glorious navy?

By HolySorcerer, in Star Wars: Armada

I can't be the only Imperial pilot getting tired of getting bounty hunter scum sent to fly with our glorious navy when engaging with the rebel terrorists. I know we occasionaly pay them to hunt down our enemies in the uncivilized outer rim, but I refuse to let them participate in our larger engagements. The closer we let them get to us the more dangerous they become, and with loyalty only to credits they cannot be trusted.

We should send a formal request for proper small craft reinforcements to support our capital ships and provide a fighter screen. We have many mass produced and prototype craft that would be more than sufficient to overwhelm the rebel terrorists and their outdated fighter craft and illegally modified transport ships.

Edit:

Which ships do you think shoud be our priority requisition from HQ? I've tried reaching out to Admirial Thrawn to aquire some of his new TIE Defenders for some field testing, but he has been hesitant, stating that they are unavailable due to technical issues.

Just put in my order today with Mel's on shapeways.

ATR-6 attack transport for the Firespray, and Lambdas for the Jumpmaster.

I was thinking a squadron of Skipray Blastboats seems like a decent analog for a generic Aggressor, and for a generic YV-666 well.... who the hell is going to use any of those?

I am going to use:

  • ATR-6 for Major Rhymer (I picked up a TIE bomber card dial on eBay... but no bombers). I can get 3 bomber stands this way, and TIE bombers are gold for imperials.
  • My aggressor will be sacrificed to make the ATR-6 stand for Major Rhymer. Imps need anti-ship, not anti-squadron.
  • 2x Lambdas for generic jumpmaster 5,000s (I ordered a second jump master and HWK, I love intel)
  • Bossk will fly an imperial gozanti.
  • The firespray I will actually paint in boba fett's colours.

Well, considering the bounty hunter ships haven't actually been released yet and very very few payers actually have them, I would have to say, no, I'm not tired of seeing that yet, since I have never seen it.

That said, do keep in mind that at least some of the ships in question are official imperial ships and they are only associated with scum because of the infamy of certain famous individuals who happen to fly them. But a generic firespray, for example, is a perfectly reasonable ship for an imperial fleet since it is actually an imperial patrol vessel.

I am unashamed to admit that I totally ripped off the ATR-6 replacement idea from you. It's a great idea.

I'm going to use them as generic firesprays to back up the Slave-I I already have.

I'm hoping the TIE Def and TIE Phan gets into Armada.

It seems fair to assume that if it's in x wing it'll be utilized in Armada at some point.

Here's what I am tired of seeing. All these after action reports from folks that have their hands on wave 2, and every one of them resulting in Imperial losses..

I have resolved to only play Rebels in Armada - I do have 15 Armada scale XG-1 Star Wings should I ever need TIE Bombers though. :)

We don't need their kind. No rogues included in my list, and if they were they would be represented by something else like tie-defender or assault gunboat models.

I might use TIE Defenders as Firesprays and TIE Phantoms as Aggressors. Possibly Lambdas as Jumpmasters (fits the "cleric" role").

I'm guessing a future pack that contains 2 each of TIE Defenders, TIE Phantoms, K-Wing and E-Wing.

how can you be tired of something that isn' even officially out yet?

They're Imperials. No need of proper logic when voicing haughty, smug, superior thoughts.

They don't like you imperialists anyways.

they do like imperialist money, though

I'll be including a few Firesprays as they were used by the Imperial Navy.

Well i managed to get my hands on everything but the mc30. And guess what against wave 1 only fleets Im running 2 win 3 loss records. Rhymer balls chew up the mc80

Paint it grey and imagine an english fellow in the cockpit. That's about all I need.

Or, have enough of us on this forum edit the wookiepedia entry to make it "legends canon".

(I'm pretty much only planning on using the jumpmaster)

Maybe I should type up more AARs.

The Rebels are on the ropes around here.

Sort of...

They only made a handful of Firespray-31s in the initial run (one of which Jango Fett stole).

It wasn't until midway through the Galactic Civil War that they began manufacturing more, hoping the fame of the Slave 1 would boost sales.

They were used as patrol and police craft in some systems, but never became particularly popular, with only a small handful still being used post-Endor.

You'd like to think so, wouldn't you?

See you tonight, Rebel scum!

Right now I'd welcome seeing scum squadrons in imperial fleets. It would at least mean that Wave 2 is finally off the boat! >.<

This is true, being inherently right is the only logic we need.

I'm a fan of standardized Imperial equipment. With all the ships in the Expanded Universe, why does the fleet have to turn to bounty hunters when there's plenty of Sienar and Kuat equipment on-hand to requisition?

I'm looking at Delta JV-7 Escort Shuttles, DX-9 Stormtrooper transports, Lambdas, Sentinels, ATRs, that horrible little VT Decimator, and so on. I know JV-7s pretty much have the same capabilities as the Firespray, and they're a whole lot cheaper on Imperial credits to employ than spending money to assuage the egoes of overrated bounty hunters.
