No Regular Rebel Smuggler?

By Felswrath, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

So there is no image of the regular card, but this means very little. What puzzles me is how does one field the elite variant? In the ally packs for the rebel troopers and saboteurs, we could get the elites by using both side missions (one from the core and one from the pack). The Wookiee pack therefore came with two side missions so that one could field the elite versions, but how would one field the elite rebel smuggler if we only have one side mission. Makes one think, no?

The Elite versions of Rebel x-pacs are mostly for Skirmish, I think. The only way to get the Elite as an ally is to win the ally twice, which is impossible for all but Troopers and Saboteurs since you can't double up missions

You can't double up saboteurs because both missions of them are green and you are only allowed to have 1 green mission per reward. Troopers are ok because 1 is green and 1 is red.

And the wookie pack only comes with one side mission.

So atm you can only field elite rebel troopers. No sabs and no wookies.

If there is no regular version, then the reward of a rebel smuggler would imply that you can field the elite, since it is the only available option. No?

It's possible the reward is the elite version and not a regular one.... if it doesn't exist! Let's assume they are not stupid enough to reward you with something that doesn't exist...

I still find the Rebel smuggler so weird.

Its a single figure but isn't a named figure. Its also a single figure but its not a large figure. Its only seems to have an elite card but isn't a unique figure.

So you really only need to buy this expansion twice since one can only run 2 of the same elite card?

There is one face down card in the preview and a elite version shown and some kind of upgrade card. It would be the first card to either give you 2 of the elite cards or 2 of the upgrade cards or even a different second upgrade card. So it's kind of safe to assume the face down card is the regular version.

And you have lots of single figures which are not named. Take the Officers or the Probe Droids.

Imperial officers are the only non-masssive/large/unique with only one figure

The wookies had a second Mission card that was face down and actually never existed....

Considering the upgrade card is unique, I doubt they'd give 2. It could well be a regular version, but would also be the first time we see the Elite version instead of the regular one on a preview image.

If it wasn't from the fact that I doubt they'll create a new non-unique 2-3 point very usefull unit (because we all know what it did to the Imperials to get one...), I'd say that a regular version is the best bet.

And Probe Droids.
