I would like to see an Imperial update for the Firespray. Of all the large base ships it is the least used. The scum variant is awesome, but a repainted model, and some Imp pilots would be fun. Plus for its points and capablities, it fits so nicely in between the Lambda and the Decimator. Thoughts? What pilots and abilities would we like to see?
Imperial Firespray Aces Pack?

How about we take care of the real Imperial ships that need some love before tinkering with a ship that has no place on the Imperial side to begin with? I understand the financial and marketing reasons for the release of the firespray, but it has a home now, why not go fly it over there?

Because it's an imperial ship. And should be a **** good one. Instead, even the "good ones", regardless of faction, are lackluster and the Imperials ones are the worst of a bad bunch.

But its not an Imperial ship. The only reason it was shoehorned into the Imperial Navy is because FFG wanted to release The Millenium Falcon and needed another iconic large ship to pair with it. The obvious popular choice was the Firespray, because of the Han/Fett relationship and because they'd sell them to Star Wars fans who don't even play X-Wing. It had to be in the Imperial list so that the Falcon could fly against it and nobody was even thinking about a third faction yet. It made good business sense at the time, but now it's awkwardly out of place.
We just need to let the Firespray go and live with its own kind. It will be much happier romping through the outer rim with its family than it ever would back at an Imperial hanger with a bunch of TIEs. If you really love the Firespray, you have to set it free.
Definitely not an Imperial ship. Honestly, should never have been made an Imperial ship.

Fett will take IMP contracts that put him conflict with the Bounty Hunters code, like being sent by Vader to wreck the Bounty Hunters guild. Fett belongs just as much on the IMP side as he does on the SV. Heck they should make a rule that, if two fleets fight each other, and the both have Fett, one is IMP and the other is SV, the IMP fleet gets to keep their Fett while the SV have to replace him. This rule would reflect his actions in the lore, in that he has followed IMP contracts and will continue to follow them even if it puts him in conflict with the faction he is forces to be in, in this game.

I can see why some people might not like that reasoning, but Boba Fett and Kath are bounty hunters. Hell, even the Imperial generic is called a Bounty Hunter.
Don't get me wrong - as a diehard Firespray player, I would very much welcome a minor buff to the Imperial version. But I think I would like to see that in new, true Imperial pilots flying the Firespray instead of buffing Imperial Kath or Boba.
Hypothetically speaking, if Imperial Kath and Boba received buffs and they became more or equally as popular as their Scum versions... not sure if I'd be a fan of that.

If you want the Empire to be able to field bounty hunters and mercenaries you could just make an unique illicit upgrade called Imperial Contract that lets them fly in the Imperial Navy for a few points. This would let the Empire contract out work for the bounty hunters at a small price, let the Empire fly the superior versions of Kath and Fett, while still letting scum keep all their dirty tricks with their illicit upgrades.

Oooh that's a cool idea!
Pssst... It IS an imperial ship. Dislike it all you want and it is STILL an imperial ship.

The problem with this is that it would make the Empire and Scum and Villainy factions less distinct when the Empire can fly basically any Scum and Villainy ship.
Making the upgrade Firespray-only would fix that problem though.

Or you can just fly the Imperial ships.

So the Firespray bounty hunters can be hired, but Bossk, Dengar, Zuckuss can't?
Fett will take IMP contracts
So will Dengar, IG88, Bossk, etc. Doesn't mean they should be part of the Imperial faction.
Edited by DarthEnderXI thought the firespray was originally inteneded as a military or 'space police' vehicle for the republic. Presuming that it the case then it could easily be an imperial ship (with imp pilots). Presumably it maybe even could find its way onto the rebel side. Just as the YT-1300 and 2400 could easily be scum ships in some capacity.
I would love to see the firespray get some sort of bump (it and the Y-wing are my 2 favorite SW ships). I hope that one day FFG does alt. factory paint schemes (the booster would have the same upgrade cards so wouldn't be mandatory for those that have all the firesprays they want). I know, I know, probably won't happen...but just in case it does, you heard it hear first. ![]()
Yeah, and the Y-Wing was designed for the Republic. The X-Wing was designed for the Empire. SLAMs were first developed for the Missile Boat. Corellian Corvettes were common in the Imperial Navy. I'm sure there are plenty of other examples that exist in X-Wing. Other examples would include the Nebulon-B Frigate, pretty much all the Rebel tanks (Yutrane-Tackata line), and on and on. :-P
Compared to a lot of those examples, the Firespray is even less Imperial. In fact, according to Wookieepedia, although it was designed for Republic police forces, Jango Fett destroyed all but one of the prototypes. KSE then gave up on the design for years, until they were able to use Boba Fett's notoriety in that ship to sell it to the general public. So according to that Legends origin, it was never even really used by the Republic.
I very much dislike it being so closely associated with The Galactic Empire to begin with.

Don't hold your breath waiting for this to ever happen.
The Firespray IS a SCUM ship. The only reason it was done as a fake-IMP was that it needed to fight The Falcon... way back when this was a smaller game.

Yup, historical business decision on part of FFG. We can salvage the fluff:
It's not an Imperial ship, and they're not Imperial pilots. The Imperial version of the Firespray represents bounty hunters while they are working under Imperial contracts, against both Rebels and Scum.
And why are they weaker in Imperial than Scum? Red tape. "I want them alive: no disintegrations".
A police patrol scheme would be cool for Imperial firesprays.

I agree that the Firespray is a scum ship and such. What I really want is an Imperial large base that can actually fight but isn't just another turret. Seeing as I don't think we will be getting another large base anytime soon for the Empire, I am simply wishing (without expecting) for an update to a ship we already have and give it some Imperial indoctin.......errr...love. I suppose I can just give the pilots new names and paint a Firespray, but some fresh abilities would be fun as well.
We imperial players had it first. It comes with Imperial dials and I don't think this will ever change.
