First Attempt at a Rieekan List

By Madaghmire, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So since the line at the snAckbar is so long, I thought I'd try putting together a list for Rieekan. I thought to myself, what works with Rieekan, and I figured I wanted a bunch of ships and a few aces, as they take advantage of his ability. This is what I came up with, let me know what you think;

MC30 Torpedo Frigate- APT's, Ord. Experts

MC30 Torpedo Frigate- APT's, Ord. Experts

CR90A- TRC's, Jaina's Light, Gen. Rieekan

CR90A- TRC's

CR90A

Han Solo

Dash Rendar

Jan Orrs

Obj- Opening Salvo, Hyperspace Assault, Intel Sweep

This comes in at 391. There's room for one more upgrade, and I'm not sure if I want to put another TRC on the naked 'vette or XI7's on one of the MC30's.

Strengths- Plenty of activation's, exceptionally maneuverable, the fighter wing can operate independently of commands and should be exceptionally difficult to lock down. TRC's provide relatively consistent damage. Can't be killed an denied an activation early in a turn.

Weakness- Not a lot of hull, no big hitters at range, commander on a low hull ship

Sound off guys, what do you think?

I played a game with a pair of very similar fleets earlier this week and, while it was a lot of fun, I wouldn't say this build was great. I think it might actually work well against a big, slow, heavy fleet, without anything fast in it, but the minute a Raider blocks your movement dropping you into close range of a VSD or an AF2 tractor beams you to let the B-wings catch up, you're boned. That said, I do think it has some potential if you can find a good way to mitigate your weaknesses.

One point, though: if you can't focus your fire by preventing redirects across the fleet (XI7s on everything or Home One guaranteeing accuracies on redirects), ACM is better than APT. It's less focused, but it does more damage overall, and you're going to have to burn through those adjacent shields anyway if you can't reliably shut down the redirect. If your target manages to get off one unmitigated redirect, though, you may as well not have mitigated any of the others, and ACM becomes the upgrade you wish you'd had.

Yeah thats why I was thinking of giving one of the MC30's XI7's. I like the APT's a lot though, as face up cards can be brutal in a way that one extra damage taken on a shield cannot.

I would drop the vanilla cr90 to a b and toss on dodanas pride personally to go with the torpedo frigates and just curious what is your mind set with jan cause I do not think she is rogue.

Since I have such a light fighter wing, I can't really count on grit to keep han unengaged, and clearly dash benefits from intel. Plus as a named she gets the benefit of Rieekan's ability. I considered Dodonna's Pride. Really it drpends on if I out TRC's on that last A or not. I'm not as big a fan of that ship when I'm not running Dodonna.
